Porygon-Z.
# 474.
Type: Normal.
Ability: Adaptability / Download.
Locations: Evolve Porygon2 via Dubious Disc
(Diamond & Pearl).
Hi everyone. Welcome to our Pokémon of the Week.
Today we’re reviewing Porygon-Z, the Virtual Pokémon.
Porygon2 has pretty good defense and special
defense. Porygon-Z has extremely high special attack (almost
legendary level) and a high speed. It is almost guaranteed to
hit before any fighting type (also depends on items, correct
training, etc.) so you are pretty safe.
Both abilities are
pretty good actually. Adaptability doubles the power of the same
type moves (just imagine hyper beam) and Download increases the
attack stat when the foe’s defense is lower than its special
defense, and increases the special attack stat then the foe’s
special defense is lower than its defense. We’ll try both, but
pick the one you find better for your strategies.
Let’s move on to the move combinations, let’s see
what’s up with this guy…
Porygon-Z.
Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
Equip: Wise glasses.
EV´s: 252 HP, 252 Special attack, 4 Speed.
- Agility
- Psychic
- Nasty plot
- Thunderbolt / Ice beam / Dark pulse / Hyper
beam
Use agility and Nasty plot if you have the
chance. If not, agility is more than enough, then just sweep.
Porygon-Z.
Nature: Timid (+ Speed, - Attack).
Equip: Choice specs.
EV´s: 252 Special attack, 252 Speed, 4 Speed.
- Tri attack
- Hyper beam
- Ice beam
- Thunderbolt / Shadow ball / Psychic
I’d say adaptability is the best ability for this
set. I’ll confess something; I hate tri attack. But it’s a good
attack for Porygon-Z so here you go. You already know the
strategy with choice items. Just hit and run as much as you can.
This one is pretty effective, probably one of the best
choice-special sweepers.
Porygon-Z.
Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack),
Timid (+ Speed, - Special attack).
Equip: Life orb.
EV´s: 252 Special attack, 252 Speed, 4 Speed.
- Tri attack
- Hyper beam
- Ice beam / Shadow ball / Psychic
- Nasty plot / Shadow ball / Psychic
This is the easiest of all sets. Just sweep with
all you’ve got. If you want a little bit more strategy, then use
Nasty plot when possible.
When should I use this Pokémon?
Yet another special sweeper. This one is pretty
good actually, so yeah I suggest training one for tourney
purposes. It is fun and effective.
What should I use against this Pokémon?
Beware of Tangrowth’s Power Whip, Dragon Dancer
Tyranitar and Blissey, If you face a Pokémon with raised stats,
you better switch as your defenses aren’t great, and you want
Porygon-Z alive to sweep at least 2 Pokémon.
Bottom line:
Next week is our 100th Pokémon of the
week. So keep sending your votes. I’ll finish counting them on
Wednesday and Start writing. So far so good so keep it up guye.
Thanks everyone.
