Hi
everyone. Welcome to another Pokémon of the Week. Today we’re
reviewing Mismagius, the Magical Pokémon.
I
decided to review this Pokémon while I’m slowly trying to beat
my Pearl
version. Anyway, Mismagius has average stats. Is not that great,
but there’s something about ghost types that keeps getting my
attention. I haven’t seen a lot of these (mostly because Gengar
and Dusknoir are better ghost types) and it’s probably a
underused Pokémon, but everyone deserves a chance right?
I still
think levitate is one of the best abilities on the game. It
keeps you safe from ground type attacks, arena trap and spikes.
All of those are part of important competitive strategies.
So, the
move combinations for today are…
Mismagius.
Nature:
Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack), Timid (+Speed, - Attack).
Equip:
Leftovers.
EV´s:
252 Special attack, 252 Speed, 6 HP.
-
Shadow ball
-
Psychic / Dark pulse / Energy ball
- Pain
split
-
Will-o-wisp / Thunderwave
Use
your status move, then hit as much as you can and use pain split
when necessary. It is simple and effective. Ideal for beginners.
Mismagius.
Nature:
Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
Equip:
Choice scarf.
EV´s:
252 Special attack, 129 Defense, 129 Speed.
-
Shadow ball
-
Psychic / Dark pulse
-
Energy ball / Magical leaf
-
Thunderbolt
Hit and
run set. Just sweep and switch. As always, you want to use this
early in game, never take this out as your last Pokémon.
Mismagius.
Nature:
Timid (+ Speed, - Attack).
Equip:
Leftovers.
EV´s:
252 Speed, 129 Special defense, 129 HP.
-
Shadow ball
-
Substitute
- Pain
split
-
Thunderbolt
Use
substitute and pain split as a combo. If your substitute doesn’t
break then use shadow ball or thunderbolt. Designed to last long
but it also depends on your decisions so be careful.
When
should I use this Pokémon?
Pain
split is something fun to use, it isn’t probably a tournament
Pokémon but it is good in casual battles. Its stats are the
major problem but hey there is not such thing as a perfect
Pokémon after all.
What
should I use against this Pokémon?
A good
crunch from Salamence is going to be guaranteed dead for
Mismagius. Remember its defense is weaker than special defense.
Just hit hard.
Bottom
line:
May is
coming and it brings the new structure for our reviews with it.
I have been a little busy but this semester is almost done and
I’ll be ready on time… Hopefully.
Rating:
2.6/5
Hope
you enjoyed.
