It appears in Sinnoh-region myths as an ancient deity.
Hello everyone, as a way to say sorry it took me so long we’ll
be reviewing the big guys of this generation this week; today
its Dialga’s turn, so let’s get this started.
Dialga has the classic legendary Pokémon stats we all know. All
of them are great but Dialga is special for something else; its
type combination gives it a huge advantage over commonly used
attacks and a huge immunity to toxic that is just great. Some
like to use it as a purely defensive Pokémon, but I like being a
little bit more offensive with this one.
The movesets for today are…
Special sweeper.
Dialga@Adamant orb.
Nature: Modest (+ Special attack, - Attack).
EV’s: 252 Special attack / 128 Defense / 128 Speed.
- Ice beam
- Flash cannon/ Aura sphere
- Dragon pulse / Earth power/ Draco meteor
- Thunderbolt / Ancient power / Flamethrower/ Overheat
The first three attacks are your main offensive; ice beam is
very valuable against ground and dragon types so I’d suggest you
not to switch it. The last move depends on your strategy. You
can add Choice specs to the equation and we have a pretty good
hit-runner.
Physical sweeper.
Dialga@Adamant orb.
Nature: Adamant (+ Attack, - Special attack).
EV’s: 252 Attack / 252 HP / 6 Speed.
- Dragon claw
- Earthquake
- Shadow claw
- Stone edge
This physical sweeper is decent, but it is better if you use
choice band. But there is an even better and more used set for
Dialga…
Bulk up.
Dialga@Adamant orb.
Nature: Careful (+ Special defense, - Special attack).
EV’s: 252 Special defense / 252 HP / 6 Attack.
- Bulk up
- Dragon claw
- Earthquake / Shadow claw
- Rest
This is probably the safest way to go if you are choosing the
physical sweeper. If has enough defenses to give you a good
amount of boost via bulk up, then just sweep.
Pros.
It resists Ghost, water, electric, grass, bug, dark, normal and
flying. It cannot be poisoned via toxic (but you can, it is a
useful move for Dialga as well) and its special item give it a
very huge advantage over many Pokémon. I like this one a lot…
Counters.
Your best shot is attacking Dialga with another offensive
legendary Pokémon; Deoxys and Lati@s are pretty good, and a
strong Earthquake from a boosted Tyranitar or a fast Metagross
could give you a chance. You could as well go with a defensive
Pokémon as Blissey, Miltank or Forretress, but you’ll have to
plan a good strategy to take it out.
Bottom line.
Later this week we’ll have Palkia, so stay tuned folks…
