About the Pokemon Game Boy Games
9.11.2007
When I was playing my crystal version
(might have been gold, actually it
probably was) I had a level 100 feraligator (If wrong
spelling, sorry). I
wanted to have clones of it since my second strongest
pokemon was a level
20. then I heard of the duplication cheat. I duplicated
feraligator 6 or 7
times. And in the beginning of the game, I named my rival
"???" and it
nicknamed itself the same thing repeated dozens of times. I
knew it was a
problem when I went into the bug catching contest and I had
it and my game
froze and instead of the pokemon name said, "What R U
Doing?" or something
like that. And my name would be repeated over my hp and
everything. It would
constantly ruin my game. Have heard a lot of rumors about
that over the
years, but none of them have came from a real reliable
source, so I am
asking you if you can do any research into this, because I
am stumped.
Thank you for reading and helping me with this,
Dillon
Well I did research a little, I had to try the gltch by
myself and in crystal version, timing is a pretty important
part of this trick. You did it right 6 or 7 times, if you
don't do it right a minor problem comes, the ??? name, but
then again, is not something that bad. Something else can
happen; the What R U doing problem is some kind of
programming joke, I had some other issues as all wild
pokemon named ??? or MEWTWO.
This is probably permanent, but the wrong code might be
located in the pokemon too, so try releasing the glitched
pokemon and restarting, it might work, but I'm not really
sure of that. I've also heard the What R U Doing message is
some programmer joke after the first cloning glitch, back in
blue/red versions...
