Reidane has a boast-worthy set of disruptive abilities, particularly for the context of Kaldheim – and at a mana cost that is cheaper than most we’ve seen recently. The catch, of course, is that they come in two distinct sets: like many things in life, you’ll need to pick a luck-thread and see where it takes you. I will say that her creature face’s are particularly likely to be useful in a context where people are used to thinking snow lands are neutral to upside and there are planeswalkers who are strong against creature decks (eg. Ugin). And actually, her shield’s abilities put aggro and tempo decks on a snow-slog, meaning that she hinders several different decks or archetypes in just one piece of cardstock.

Reidane’s a pretty interesting creature in all. Her body is modest at best, but she comes with a decent snow-slowing mechanic that can throw a wrench in the plans of opponents whose mana bases are almost exclusively snow, and she’s an evasive attacker that can help to tax pricier spells…like board wipes, which almost exclusively come in at 4 or more mana. Notably, this actually does well against a fair amount of the foretell spells, as it only looks at converted mana cost and not what you’re looking to pay for them.
Valkmira, the other side, is also pretty nice defensive tool; damage prevention is rare in white these days, and this is really good at staving off armies of small creatures or turning trades more favorable. It doesn’t shield itself, but the soft tax on targeting can help to make removal spells or burn attempts a bit less favorable.
Overall, I think Reidane is good. She’s not an all-star, but both sides have distinct utility, and both Reidane and Valkmira are solid tools for white to do its own thing. Whether or not this’ll be enough to give her a home in decks is questionable, as white is still a fairly weak color in the current Standard, but a flexible mana cost when coupled with easy mana fixing should offset that somewhat.
