Scrap Raptor – #LIOV-EN021
You can target 1 monster you control; destroy it, also, during your Main Phase this turn, you can Normal Summon 1 “Scrap” monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. If this card is destroyed by the effect of a “Scrap” card and sent to your GY: You can add 1 “Scrap Factory” or 1 non-Tuner “Scrap” monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of “Scrap Raptor” once per turn.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Scrap Raptor is new support for the long-forgotten Scrap archetype.
Searcher for Scrap Factory and non-Tuner Scrap monsters, Raptor has the ability to pop a monster you control, like a few of the monsters within the archetype. This pop ability is essential as it will help activate Scrap monsters effects when destroyed by a “Scrap” card. Case in point, Raptor can pop itself and get you your search. The extra Normal Summon/Set helps with setting up Synchro Summons, and if you have Scrap Factory you will plus off the destruction of your Scrap monsters. If your field is established already then popping something is the best option as to get the search. If you are developing your field, the extra Normal Summon will be needed. Using Raptor and the extra Normal Summoned Scrap monster, you could go for Scrap Wyvern, Special Summon Raptor and pop it to get your search. Scrap Recycler can get you a draw and recycle back Scrap Monsters into your deck while Searcher would Special Summon itself from the grave off a Scrap monster destruction.
Much like yesterdays card, Raptor feels like an extender to get to your Link Summon versus the archetype strategy. Nevertheless, you can use the Link monster to go into that strategy and gain advantage. The big Synchro monsters for Scrap players (Scrap Synchro monsters or others) have always been the strategy: one-hit your opponent for game.

Next up we get one of the best archetype updates in this set, which is funny considering said archetype only got this one card: Scrap Raptor.
Scrap Raptor is a Level 4 EARTH Dinosaur Tuner with 1400 ATK and 1000 DEF. Meh Level 4 stats, EARTH is always pretty good, and Dinosaur makes this searchable off of Fossil Dig and Souleating Oviraptor to add to your Scrapyard getting this since it’s a Tuner. Anyways, you can target a monster you control and destroy it to be able to Normal Summon a Scrap monster in addition to your Normal Summon or Set. Good effect to get another Normal Summon while doing Scrap things and benefiting from self destruction with cards like Scrap Factory. Speaking of which, the destruction of Scrap Raptor by any means, including its own effect, lets you serach for any Scrap non-Tuner monster or a Scrap Factory. Great to get you to Factory if you don’t already have it in pure Scraps. Machine Decks could also use this to go into Scrap Recycler combos or you can get Scrap Chimera to revive your Scrap Raptor and make a Level 8 Synchro or Crystron Halqifibrax/Scrap Wyvern for combos. It’s insane you can use both effects in the same turn and they work off each other, with the only downside being the modern HOPT clause. This is a very good card for Scraps and any Deck trying out Scrap cards like Recycler, Golem, Chimera, and Wyvern. Orcust Scrap, Dinosaur Scrap, or just pure Scrap. I’m sure many will have fun with this.

Scrap Raptor is here to make use of your old Scrap Monsters and cards! Scrap Raptor (cool name) has rather unimpressive initial stats. 1400/1000 on a Level 4 is meh, Earth/Dino is pretty standard, but being a Tuner is muy bueno. Initial Effect, in true Scrap form, lets you Target and Destroy a Monster you control (note that IS an optional Effect, which is great!) Scrap Raptor, also like yesterday, is a card to help you set up and make your Extra Deck plays. During the current Main Phase of the Turn, you can have an Extra Normal Summon of another Scrap Monster. Even though it’s another Normal, which is weird, but can be good, it’s still an extra Summon. If Destroyed by a Scrap card Effect, you net a ‘Scrap Factory’ or NON-Tuner Scrap Monster from your Deck to your Hand. Resource replenishment here is always welcome, and since you can Destroy this in a billion ways in the Deck, including by itself, you should always get that. It’s a simple enough card that does more and moves faster than yesterday.
