Hello Pojo Fans,

Security Dragon was once part of a loop that abused Grinder Golem to afford you a great deal of summons using the tokens, but that combo has been nerfed in recent time. Regardless, Security Dragon is still a good Link 2.

Points up and down, effect off being co-linked, Security Dragon can be a way to open up one of your Main Monster Zones easily using generic materials, while getting rid of a monster your opponent controls without destroying it. Spinning back a resource may not get rid of it completely, but it’s better than giving your opponent potential advantage off destruction. The best part about Security Dragon is that it, while it has to be co-linked to use its effect, it doesn’t have to be in the Main Monster Zone and can target ANY monster your opponent controls. Spin an Extra Monster Zone monster, Main Monster Zone monster, doesn’t matter, whichever is bothering you the most. The freedom to not have to point directly at the monster it intends to spin opens Security Dragon up to using opponent link arrows that point to your side of the field as well.

Not much else to say about this. Easy to summon, TCG has been waiting for it, Link climb after using its effect.

Flawed. Security Dragon is a Link 2 Light Cyberse-type Link Monster with 1100 Atk and with Up and Down Arrows. It’s very generic, only requiring any 2 monsters. I’m glad it can use its effect no matter how it was summoned, because those stats won’t stay on the field very long. As a hard once per turn, you get to bounce a targeted monster from the field to the hand. There is no cost, so essentially we have a CED on legs. However, there is no reason to run this removal versus some other removal in the Extra Deck. It also looks kinda weird. Unless it’s negated Security Dragon is cheap and effective, but the arrows and stats aren’t good. At least it can target your own monsters for future broken plays.

Next up on this week of randomness is a card we probably would of loved when Grinder Golem and Firewall Dragon were legal, but a card that can still find a role I’m sure, and that’s Security Dragon.

Security Dragon is a Link-2 LIGHT Cyberse with 1100 ATK and has Up and Down arrows. 1100 ATK is somewhat low, but fine I guess, LIGHT is a lovely attribute and Cyberse is still getting support for another year until I assume we enter the next generation of this game next year, and those arrows help with its effect even if I’d wish for the Up or Down arrow to maybe be Left or Right, but that’s fine. The summoning requirements are any 2 monsters, which is no issue for any competent deck that isn’t of the Stun variety. Once while this card is on the field, if it is co-linked, then you can target a monster your opponent controls and return it to the hand. Nice little bounce here, basically a mini-Compulse when you are doing Link Climbing with Tokens probably. Nothing wrong with bouncing monsters at all. This would of been an insane effect when Grinder Golem was legal and used alongside Akashic Magician, but thankfully we don’t have that to deal with. The bounce on Security Dragon is a hard once per turn because that effect most certainly didn’t belong on Firewall Dragon instead. Either way, Security Dragon is a nice card for Link Climbing, so he’s worth a spot in some Extra Decks.

Red Alert!  Security Dragon is a nifty little Link Monster.  A Link 2, with arrows pointing directly above and below, and a Light attribute, Cyberse Monster with 1100 attack.  Arrows are good, attack isn’t terrible for a Link 2.  Link Summon here is performed generically by any 2 Monsters.  This card has a simple bounce mechanic attached to it, which is fun.

Once while face-up, so long as Security Dragon is Co-Linked, you can Target an opponent’s Monster and return it to their Hand.  That’s fun, and easy enough and sensible that the effect would involve something being linked to it given it’s a Link Monster, no?  Bounce is always good, you aren’t paying or giving anything as a cost in order to do that, so I appreciate that as well.  Small and simple, but effective enough.

Art:  4.5/5  This is a cute little Dragon, in its own mechanical way.  Great design on the body and color scheme as well, and I love the pink back ground (portal?) behind in the center.
