Before I
jump into the card review, I am going to take
this opening statement to discuss a very
important matter.Yesterday, Shaman King: Master
of Spirits 2 was officially released. Sadly I
still don't own it, but that doesn't mean you
shouldn't go out and by this GameBoy Advanced
title! This game was based off the latest
Castlevania series game engine but has that
Shaman King twist to it. So go to the store and
pick this game up after this review.
Today's card is "Consuming Hatred." It's another
melee strike card, but this one is a bit more
playable then Monday's card. The card cost of 2
yellow furyoku is around the normal for a good
strike. 4 intercept and 4 force aren't the best
numbers for your strike cards. It's fine for
casual, and sometimes, depending on how it is
set up, ok for sealed events. With sealed events
with a very limited card pool, this could be
good, but a large card pool might let better
cards in. The golden 5 if what you want to
strive for, and luckily there is an effect for
today's card that can help.
"Consuming Hatred's" effect reads; "Uncharge
this zone --> +4 intercept and +2 force." In
some decks your signature move just isn't as
important as the cards in your deck. So you can
make use of these charged zone with cards such
as this. So if you use the effect you are going
to end up with an 8 intercept, 6 force, melee
strike for the cost of 2 yellow and 1 charged
zone. Now that's just good. But alot of decks
depend on charging their zones so this card
isn't for most people. If you are going to place
this card in your deck, plan to uncharge a zone
to use the effect. A 4/4 strike doesn't cut it
in tournaments, but a 8/6 sure does!
