It's a
shock. I have ran out of opening statements. So
let's jump right into today's Card of the Day
review, "Purity of Mind." This Anna themed card
again doesn't have a trait restriction. But
unlike Monday's card, this one is actually good.
The card cost is 1 green and 1 red furyoku. A
tad steep, but not overpriced. You got to spend
red furyoku somewhere and strikes are a great
place to put them. A 6 intercept is better than
the 'golden 5.' The force is only 4, so it's
only one point under 5. Intercept is a little
high, force is a little low, that's a balanced
card.
"Purity of Mind" has an effect which states;
"Pitch --> Move a yellow furyoku to your red
zone." This is a cool effect. You gain furyoku
power, but you don't increase your furyoku
number. Red furyoku is the best furyoku you can
have and this card gives you one at a cost of a
zone. Depending how your game is going until you
flip this card will determine if losing a zone
is worth the benefit of another red furyoku. If
you don't have any yellow furyoku, then this
effect is a dead weight. Don't create a game
where you are running out of furyoku in any
color.
Without the effect, the card is well balanced.
The effect only adds more support to it. "Purity
of Mind" is playable in all formats. I would
expect it in more "girl alternative" card in the
male based game. It would see this as a very
highly rated card in an Anna themed deck, which
could be playable in Casual. Watch carefully how
many copies of this card you put in your deck.
Red furyoku is powerful, but can disappear very
quickly.
