For this
week we are running without a theme. We still
got alot of cards left, but not all of them fit
into a week. Today we are jumping into "Joco;
Jocular Comedian." I don't know why this card
hasn't been given a review yet. But, we got
alittle background information about Joco first.
His real name is Chocolove, born and raised in
New York City. He used to be in a gang until he
turned his life around and became a Shaman. His
goal in life now is to spread the "gag wind;" A
feeling of laughter and happiness where ever he
goes. His Manga and Anime background story are
slightly different, but basically the same as I
described above.
"Joco; Jocular Comedian" has a Yoh trait
restriction, same as last Friday's card. This
teamwork only costs 1 yellow furyoku, which is
considered very cheap, because of his effect.
Joco's effect is; "In Joco's zone, you may pay
yellow costs with green furyoku." You can't use
this effect on the card cost of playing Joco,
though. But when you have this in play, you
aren't going to be spending as much yellow
furyoku as you normally would. Green furyoku is
pretty easy to come by. It's a great counter to
yellow furyoku control decks. Also the effect is
optional. It turns big strike card costs into
something a bit more cheaper.
This card is basically considered a "staple"
(meaning it's played in almost every deck) in
decks that support a Yoh team trait. In
tournaments, alot of people will run this. Same
in Casual and Sealed events since it cheapens
the furyoku costs. Decks that support a Yoh team
trait will at least have one of these in their
decks. Running up to 4 copies isn't very
uncommon either. It's a great card. But some
deck might require the use of another teamwork
instead, so running 4 Jocos might disrupt the
deck's balance. I don't want to give this card a
'5/5' rating, but this could rank as the best
common card in this set. There isn't much more
you could improve on this card, except making
the cost free. Great card, play it if you can.
