Well, it's been a long week, hopefully next week we will have a full cast again. Anyways, today's card is "Outnumber," a personal favorite. I have been saving this card for a while. I have picked some different themed weeks (Ponchi/Conchi, Lola, this week), but it's time for this card to shine. This card art did originally come from the Japanese OCG (which, again, isn't the same game as the English version by UDE). Way back when the OCG was just starting, TOMY had the "great" idea to create some cheap videogames to support their card game. GameBoy Color was being phased out for the new GameBoy Advance at the time. But TOMY wanted a cheap game made quick, in order to sell for the winter holiday season in Japan. The result was an horrible game that had 2 versions, Red and Blue. No storyline, bad controls, limited card pool (but only 3 sets were out at the time, so that was understandable), on a system that had 3 months left on it, and the graphics that were in 8-Bit. TOMY learned their lesson after that train wreak, and made 2 more games for GBA that were actually half decent. Their next failure was making a game on the Wonderswan, but that's for another day (If you don't know what the Wonderswan was, Google it up). Anyways, this history of failures does have a point! The box art from the Blue version of the game. The card art was redesigned with the flames in the back later on. So "Outnumber" has a nice long background, but let's look at what really matters to you.

This rare melee strike, finishes off my week of "melee strikes that have bonuses when played with teamwork cards." That's a mouthful. The card costs an average of 2 green and 1 yellow furyoku. Next the card has a powerful intercept of 6. A golden 5 force from your opponent won't touch you with this card. The force of "Outnumber" is lacking with a weakly 3. This places the card at a 6:3 stat ratio, but could change when used with it's effect as seen below.

The effect is stated that "If you have more teamworks in play than your opponent, +3 force." This is a nice power-up for your 3 force. As long as you have more teamworks in play than your opponent this card will be a 6 force card for the cost of 2 greens and a yellow. Very nice I might say. But there are some downsides to this card. One is that it's not, "equal to or more," just "more." That means if you have 3 teamworks and your opponent has 3 teamworks, then no effect. Another setback about this card is that your opponent could play a teamwork to make their number of teamworks equal to yours. Since the effect is always active, you lose your bonus.

If your deck runs high on teamwork cards, this effect will be very useful. As a rare this card is a bit more harder to grab a hold of. Some decks don't have very many teamwork cards so this card is far from being a staple. If you plan your deck well, this card can be used in all formats. As a Friday review, I'll rank it higher than it might should be. I like it, I see use in it, but if you don't have it, it shouldn't hurt your deck.

Casual: 3.7/5
Tournament: 3.7/5
Sealed: 3.7/5
