Season 1 - Episode 19
One, Two, Three, Draw

Summary: Episode 20
Summary by: BridgitKiido

I use the original names, but the dub plots and personalities and stuff like that, in case you begin to wonder about the entire Ren, Tamao, Manta, and Horo thing.  Here's a small chart, in case you need it.

Original - Dub
Tamao - Tammy
Ren - Len
Manta - Morty
Horo - Trey

Today is the conclusion of the battle between Yoh and Ren. Neither shaman can lose this fight, because the loser is eliminated from the entire tournament.  Jun tries to get her uncle to intervene with the fight... Ren calls on the spirit of Bason's horse and combines it with his own horse for some reason. This causes the horse to scream in pain or something.  Poor beast.  Jun yells at her uncle, saying something about it being entirely his fault (which it is) and that if he doesn't do something to help she will. Of course, then he sends his servants to attack his own niece.  Not a nice guy, huh.  Jun and Lee Pai-Long try to counter the attack but fail. Jun is sent downstairs to be punished or something, while Lee Pai-Long has to stay upstairs.  That cannot be good.  Back to the battle, Yoh is keeping up his “bad” jokes and coolheaded nature while Ren keeps on raging away. They both then use up all their feryoku at once in one final attack. Ren does this 'ultra cavalry charge' thing, while Yoh counters it. Manta is hurled backwards. Of course, why he is standing so close to the fight and not up in a tree or something is beyond me.  Ren loses his spirit control and then starts to make a very sweet speech comparing Yoh to the wind, when Yoh turns around and says that he has run out of feryoku too. So, they start to fight over who won the battle. Of course, that's why these things are overseen by the shaman council, and Silva announces that they ran out of feryoku at exactly the same time. The oracle bell then declares that they both stay in the tournament, so they head off to Yoh's house to celebrate.  Ren does not seem too excited to be going, but oh well.

At the party, Horo gives the first toast. All of the shamans at the party – Yoh, Horo, and Ren – have passed to the next round of the tournament, so everyone is celebrating.  Anna and Pilika start to argue about the shaman tournament, and the shamans start to dispute a little about something else, but Ren is for the first time in his entire life starting to have fun! The only other thing of note about this part of the party is that Tamao blushes when she pours Yoh more juice.  I guess Amidamaru was right about her liking our hero.  Wait until Anna finds out… Then, they go to the hot spring in back. Ren WILL NOT go in, but the rest of the boys - um - persuade him to take a dip.  Later, Ren realizes that his uncle is wrong about everything that he said and decides to go back to tell him.  Yoh sees him off, and Ren cannot express his happiness and gratitude – mostly because he does not know how. One thing you do find out in this part is that Ren is 15, meaning that everyone else probably is as well.  That’s interesting; I thought that they were acting younger than that earlier. Ren gets to his uncle's house and lays some of the zombie bodyguards outside to rest for good. Inside the house, Ren - well, let's just say he doesn't really get a warm welcome from Uncle En. Then, the shamans back at the party (and everyone else too) sense that Ren could be in major trouble, which is confirmed when Bason shows up begging for help...
