Hello Pojo Fans,

Showdown of the Secret Sense Scroll Techniques is a side deck card that is more useful now than ever in the game.

So many decks run monsters, spell, and trap cards in sets within the main deck that this card is perfect to side against them. A free negate and destruction as long as they’ve already played at least one copy of that card. Let your opponent go through their Lonefire Blossoms and negate the final one, stop a hand trap that’s already been used (how many times are players hand trapped turn one?), or negate an effect of a card that’s already been played. This can work for monsters used in the Extra Deck as well. The only restriction may be waiting for a copy to be played, but if you draw this card after a copy of a card has been played, then you are golden.

This card is good, easy to use, and a must in the side deck.

Showdown of the Secret Sense Scroll Techniques is a free Counter Trap Card that can negate anything if that card’s name is already in the opponent’s grave. So if they draw two Allure of Darkness you can negate the second one. Or two Storming Mirror Force, negate the second one for free. But monster effects, now here is an interesting idea. So this is a side deck card. But if ever a card killed a deck, this really kills decks that use the same monster. I’m speaking of Blue Eyes Alternative White Dragon. If Vanilla BEWD is in the grave, and Alternative hits the field, this card will negate and destroy Alternative’s activated effect because its name changes to BEWD on the field. Showdown of the Secret Scroll Techniques might also negate Pseudo Space if your opponent is playing that, but it banishes the card in the grave as cost to activate its effect, so I’m not as sure. While this might not do much turn one, it is definitely a card worth running in a format where cards are played in threes to account for Pot of Desires.

We end this week off with a new Counter Trap, and one that is honestly… not terrible. Showdown of the Secret Sense Scroll Techniques, which I will shorten to SotSSST.

SotSSST is a simple Counter Trap that can negate the activation of a Spell/Trap card or Monster Effect with the same name as a card in the opponent’s GY and destroys that card. Most decks do already play multiple copies of the same card, so this should be live. The only problem is that you would love to negate the first time they use that card, not the second time. This can’t do anything to most Limited cards as well, cause you can only run 1 of those. Also, if your opponent plays a card as a one-off, it can suck to not be able to negate it if it is very powerful. This card can be good in the grind game, but in this era, you shouldn’t prepare for the grind game too much. If you are, then this is a good choice to play.

Ending the week, we have a Counter Trap, Showdown of the Secret Sense Scroll Techniques.  The name here is almost longer then the effect text.  This card is honestly, pretty simple.  If your opponent activates a Magic or Trap card, or Monster effect as one that all ready exists in their Graveyard, you negate the activation (and if successful) destroy the card.  This card isn’t bad, but it isn’t great either.  The good…it’s not uncommon to expend and run into more than one of the same card playing against most Decks.  As a duel progresses, this card likely gains power, as you have to wait for the second card to be used anyway.  Which more or less addresses the real downside of this card, that it won’t do anything to stop the first one.  Still not a bad card though, just mostly average.
