Command of the Game
This week’s letter comes from Ryan:
Hey there, my question is: how do know which figures are
"followers" and which are not?
This is a fairly quick and easy answer, so I am going to
expand it a bit and talk about Commander Effects in
general. You basically have two types of characters –
followers and commanders. A commander is any character
that has a Commander effect. A follower is any character
that does not have a commander effect. It is that
simple. Anytime a CE affects a ‘follower’ it is
referring to any character who does not have a commander
effect.
Now, there are CEs that affect things other than
followers. Some CEs refer to allies while others refer
to a group. When a CE refers to allies, that commander
effect can affect any character in your squad except for
the commander itself. Sorry folks, no mogs here. You
can’t be your own best friend. If a commander effect
applies to the character with the commander effect, then
it will generally say in the text that the commander is
included, such as Nom Anor or Bacara. When it refers to
a group such as characters with order 66 or wookiees or
troopers, unless it says something else like followers,
it will apply to commanders and followers alike. For
instance Master Yoda – his CE is all allied wookiees
within six gain bodyguard. This is a group (wookiees) as
well as allies, so a commander like Tarfful would gain
bodyguard because he is both a Wookiee and an ally.
Also, when it refers to a group like Mandalorians in
your squad gain momentum, again, all Mandalorians gain
momentum if they have a CE or not. Most characters like
this have whatever is granted to make things easier.
Thanks for the email Ryan. I hope this helps you out. If
anyone has any questions or topics you would like me to
cover, drop me a line at sithdragon13@yahoo.com. I will
get to ALL emails, so if you have sent something be
patient. It’s coming ;)
May the Force Be With You.
