Wow. This is The Fang, reviewing one of, if not the
best minis from Bounty Hunters. This guy is the
ultimate grunt killer.
For all of you who don’t know who this guy is, he’s
the guy in the cantina smoking reefer...not really.
He is smoking the ‘Soup of Life’ of people,
especially criminals. He is actually over 1,000
years old...a weird creation by Lucas to be honest.
Anyway, he’s the best. 70 health is good, as he
isn’t going to die soon. The defense is tolerable.
The Attack is good, but the damage isn’t. However,
he has several abilities to raise his attack and
damage output.
Dannik Jericho has numerous abilities, two of which
are new to this game---but I’ll get into those
later. Stealth will help to get him into the fray
unnoticed. Cunning Attack is good for boosting his
attack and damage, but he will probably always
hit---and kill his main prey, grunts. It’s a pity
that he’s Unique, or I’d play 2-3 of him in 200pt.
games. Now onto his new abilities. Drain Life Energy
is great. He can replenish his health by
annihilating an adjacent foe. Proboscises is okay,
it’ll boost his damage output a bit. Don’t play him
in 100pt games, because there aren’t enough grunts
here. 150 is better, but 200 is the best. However,
every single one of the enemies’ guns will be
pointed right at him, so keep him in cover, and
maybe give him a bodyguard. In closing, he’s one of
the best minis out there.
100pt: 2.5 (not enough grunts)
150pt: 4 (better...but not the best)
200pt: 5 (so great)
Pose: 3.5, haha, looks like he’s doing karaoke.
May the Force
be with you. |

Ah, Dannik
Jerriko, blurring the line between high adventure
space opera and gothic horror for over 11 years...
wait a minute, did Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina
really come out that long ago? Good lord, I'm old.
Anyhoo, the Dannik Jerriko piece is pretty great.
For 23 points, his numbers are all perfectly
respectable, and he tops it off with some
outstanding special abilities. Drain Life Energy is
obviously the marquee power here, as any character
that can heal itself to full by doing something you
already want to do (kill enemy pieces) is a
character I want in my squad. While his base damage
of 10 is pretty poor, he has Cunning Attack and the
icky ability of Proboscises to simulate the
extremely icky surprise of having a funny-looking
thin man grow tentacles from his face and drink your
brain. Topping it all off, he has Stealth, the
ability that gets worse with every Accurate Shooter
released, but somehow better with each set anyway,
due to things like the Bith Black Sun Vigo and Nom
Anor.
Nom is certainly one of the commanders of choice to
go with Dannik, since super-stealth remains a
powerful force in the game. Another one is Grand
Admiral Thrawn, who, as usual, finds some things in
his huge bag of tricks for every occasion. In this
case, Thrawn's ability to control initiative and
move Jerriko around the board helps DJ get the most
out of both Cunning and Proboscises (the latter
ability replaces turn, so he can't usually move and
do it). Oh, and even if the attack can't kill the
enemy, did I mention that Proboscises can activate
the enemy for the round? Presumably it's a
terrifying experience, what with the thin man trying
to drink your brain with his face tentacles and all.
Jerriko is best suited to killing off grunts, but he
does it so well that we can forgive him for being
specialized. His Attack and Damage values aren't
going to help you put real damage on Darth Bane, but
you can sure beat the snot out of his Ugnaught
helpers, while healing yourself up, to boot.
Overall rating in 100: 2.5 (not much help against
the power pieces that dominate this format)
Overall rating in 200: 4 (a wide enough field where
you can afford to invest in a dedicated filler
killer)
