Lando,
Dashing Scoundrel
Fringe
Cost: 18
DEF: 17
ATK: +8
DAM: 20
Mobile; Evade; Opportunist
Today we review the newest gaming system from
Nintendo. The Lando DS is compact, portable, and
affordable. Errr.....oops. Okay, so Lando isn't the
latest in software entertainment, but he is most
definitely affordable. Coming in at only 18 points,
he has more options than a Swiss army knife. Someone
in this game must really love Lando because every
Lando has been pretty damn good.
Lando, DS has a very nice 17 DEF for a non-Jedi. It
may be a bit lower than HoT, but that is because
they jacked up his offense. He is a +8 for 20 DAM.
The +8 isn't so hot, but the 20 DAM is nice. Of
course this wouldn't be Lando without opportunist,
so now you are looking at a +12 for 30 DAM!
This Lando still has his mobile attack, but for
added defense he now also has evade, which will make
him even harder to kill. Now one more thing that is
key is something that he DOESN"T have - a commander
effect. him being a follower means you can use him
with Ackbar and make him a +16 for 30 DAM shooter,
or you can use CS Yoda for an extra reroll on the
evade save. Keep in mind too that at 18 points he
can be brought in with Lobot or any other
reserve/reinforcement roll.
100pts: Not real playable here, but i wouldn't write
him off just yet. With his cost being so low i
wouldn't be surprised if he fits in somewhere.
150/200pts - he is equally playable in either of
these. His most popular roll right now is in the San
Hill builds, but he can quite literally fit into
pretty much any squad. The other thing i like is
that he is as good as Lando, HoT but does not make
him irrelevant. Both are still very playable. You
just have to play them in different rolls. HoT can
double for 10 more DAM, but is left in the open.
More often than not though you will use him for his
CE. DS is a great follower that can stay in hiding
and do 10 more DAM while moving. Both are very good
for what they do, and the new game system Lando is
an awesome piece for only 18 points.
