Every set has a sub theme, whether it be EpI, EPIV,
whatever. This set seems to have the sub theme
based on Rebel Storm, seeing as all of the rebel
pieces are juiced up Rebel Storm re releases.
Today we look at the new Luke. The new version
is 2pts more with exactly the same stats as Jedi
Knight from Rebel Storm. The difference is in
the packaging. The old Luke only had double
attack. The new Luke has that along with Djem
So and flurry. That alone would make the new
Luke pretty good. For all the pros and cons of
Djem So read my Vader review as i am not going to go
through the whole speel again. Needless to say
that it is almost always a good thing.
The new Luke has force renewal. Again that
would be enough as the old one only has three fixed
FPs. All the old Luke could do is sweep and
Leap. Not bad abilities, but it meeans he will
die fast, and they are not powers that are overly
good anyway. Jedi loses both of these, but
gains block and deflect. This is outstanding
as you now have the same piece, but now has the
capability to defend herself...himself(Sorry, must
be the hair). Tack on Knight speed and you
increases his striking distance, which is always
good for melee. All of this for only two
points more is awesome. This is a HUGE
improvement over the RS piece. He now also has
tons of help from his rebel buddies.
100pts: I am going to say not likely here, but with
his cost and the buddies he can bring, i would not
surprise me if someone used him and did well.
150/200pts: Here he is equally good and can be
run in both. he is fast, defensible, and
cheap. He will fit into any number of squads.
He wont be an uber piece, but he doesnt need
to be. That is what the rest of the squad is
for.
