Today we look at an oft over looked piece. The new
wedge is kind of deceiving. For only 13 points you
are getting a rather beefy 50 HP. The 17 DEF is
solid for a non-Jedi, and the +8 ATK, while not
stellar, is solid for only 13 points.
Those stats are not bad, but now Wedge has a slew of
abilities. The most interesting one is that he is a
pilot. To me this is just creaming for a Red leader
or something with a CE for pilots, so you can get
some real synergy with the newer pilots that we
have. Wedge has evade, so that already above the
curve 50 HP should stretch a bit farther. He has
mobile attack, which again will extend his life, and
tack on the avoid defeat, and you have a 13 point
piece that is not going to die easily. He also has
grenades 10 for some decent grunt crowd control.
100pts: He is a decent package, but he just wont
bring enough damage to be worth it.
150/200pts: He can work well in either format here.
He is a solid package and with some decent rolls can
really absorb some damage before he goes down. You
can add Obi ghost and Yoda to give him force
points. he also goes well with a Verpine for the
forced activation squad. He will fit into a pilot
squad with Luke and Biggs, although there is no
overlying synergy. Is he big and burly - no, but
c'mon he is only 13 points! For that price he can
really pull his weight.
