I'm just going to say it up front: I don't like this
piece. For a hefty cost of 40 points one would
expect Leia's first appearance in the New Republic
Faction to be a bit more significant. Stat-wise,
she's low across the board. Particularly of note is
the +10 attack and no abilities to boost it. In
fact, the only abilities we're given is Double
Attack and the Melee restriction. So surely she has
some awesome new-fangled force powers to make up for
her deficiencies, right?
She has 2 force points and renewal, so that's good.
Deflect will help her low HP versus ranged
opponents. Mind trick is pretty situational, but it
comes in handy from time to time. Finally she has
Battle Meditation. Why? I don't think anyone really
knows. Unfortunately it rarely comes in handy, and
when it does it usually doesn't amount to much.
That's it folks. That's all we get for 40 points :(
She really reminds me of Luke, Young Jedi,
actually. She has similar force powers and
only marginally better stats. However, Luke is very
playable at 21 points. Leia is nearly double that.
And for what? Renewal and Battle Meditation? Am I
missing something? Perhaps we'll get some synergy
for her in a later set. For now, don't even bother.

Battle Meditation, Deflect; Jedi Mind Trick
Today we review Leia as a Jedi. I picked this
one for one simple reason - to rip her to shreds!
I dont lambaste many minis but this one makes me
madder than any other mini to date. There are
so many ways they screwed this character up it isnt
even funny.
Her stats are not real good, especially for a 40pt
piece. 100HP seems to be the norm for this
set. The defense is a bit low, but then again
she was never a premier Jedi even though she has
held her own in every battle. The +10 attack
is horrendous! Normally figs with base stats
and a cost like this have some boosts to make them
worthy. Nope. Double Attack. That
is it.
Okay, what about force powers? She has
renewal. That is good. She has deflect -
also good. Jedi mind trick i have never liked.
It is way too iffy and never seems to come when you
need it. Then lastly you have battle
meditation, something she has never shown the
ability to do, BTW. This is the most janked up
power in the game. It could have been uber
good had they done it right, but they really missed
the mark and hurt some very good figs in the
process.
And that's it. Leia should have been costed as
a 34 point piece, not 40. Jaina costs 2/3 less
and is way stronger than Leia can ever be. I
would even take Jacen over Leia, too. Her cost
is just way too high and she has absolutely nothing
to offer. Not only is her cost completely over
rated, but this was their chance to bring out a Leia
that would finally have affinity for noghri.
We even got a fantastic new Noghri in Legacy to
boot. She should be able to bring in Noghri
and then have the special ability called Mal'ary'ush
where they gain bodyguard for Leia, but nope - left
empty there was well.
So in review: Bad stats, no abilities, no force
powers, no Noghri.
This is the most craptastic piece they have made to
date. I would say this even outclasses the
Nikto for bad pieces.
100, 150, 200pts: Craptastic. Get her to
complete your set if you must. Otherwise dont
even think of playing her. Absolute 0!
