Today we look at the latest Han Solo. This one took
a pleasant twist from the regular Hans we get. First
off, the stats are close to the rebel storm version.
This one is one point less, 10 less HP, -1 DEF, and
a +1 ATK with the same DAM.
Both have accurate shot, but the last ability is
where Smuggler really stakes a new claim. The new
Han not only has opportunist, but opportunist +20,
so he is a +14 for 40 DAM! That is a big hit. The
other nice thing is that this really carves out a
different niche in squads that are largely based on
cunning attacks.
Other than base stats, some things of note are that
he tied for the cheapest of the Hans with Hantaun,
and he is a follower still. This means he is going
to fit into a lot of squads and be eligible for
commander effects. The downside is that he only has
70HP and no mobile and no evade. He is the only
follower Han, since the rebel storm version, that
lacks both. This makes him extremely fragile.
When you play him, it makes your opponent really
think about what they need to do. Do they take out
the cunning person in front of them and then get
smacked hard by Han, or do they take him out and
leave the cunning person for another round risking
their wrath later.
100pts: Its gonna be hard to play him in 100. His
fragility combined with the fact you have to let
your opponent go first to make the most out of him
really hurts. You can try him. It will only take a
couple hits to get your points out of him, though,
so try him if you want.
150/200pts: He is equally playable in either format.
As i said he makes a great compliment to a cunning
squad. This Han seems to be custom made for the NR,
though. Jaina not only brings him in to the squad,
but right there you have a cunning/opportunist
pairing. Combine them with the new Wedge and then
you have a very hard hitting Han with both mobile
AND evade, making him worth much more than his 27
points. You can also use Lando DS and Mara for an
additional cunning/opportunist pairing. In a rebel
build i play Leia, Senator so he can get back out of
line of sight, but a BG can help him just as much.
Honestly, most of the time you will see players
taking him out and chancing the cunning characters
for the next round when possible, so you have to be
careful with him.
