The perfect State fair food - Droid on a stick!
Okay, maybe not so edible, but this piece was
actually my # 2 piece of 2008. It may be a bit
high, but this is one of a couple pieces that have
really wreaked havoc on the gaming scene. By itself
it isn't much, but with the load of droid commander
effects and abilities as well as pawn of the dark
side from Sidious, and you get one deadly strafe
attacker that can hit for a lot and when all is said
and done, is out of attack range and safely in
hiding again. Its one weakness is going to be
disruptive, but outside of that, it is a deadly
piece. Coming only one to a $40 scenario pack, they
are hard to get a hold of in multiples, but they are
well worth it. It is one of the pieces that is
forcing troop armies to the rear of the play line
and shifting it to beefier, lower activation squads.
We are almost there. There are only two figures
left. Have you guessed what they are? Tomorrow, we
look at the best of those who cannot be seen.

3. IG Lancer Droid
Ah finally we’ve reached the
final leg of the top 10 minis of 08’ beginning with
the top 3. And the first entry of the top 3 is the
IG lancer Droid. I personally haven't played the IG
or faced it. I however do not want to face it as I
have heard stories of it compiling massive amounts
of damage while taking little damage. But many
pieces do that? So why all the praise it’s due
mainly to the fact that with GG, DAC and the Dart
Sidous CS, This piece can do 80 damage at +14 attack
without taking any AoO’s. That’s pretty beast but
thrown in speed 12 and he can do the above damage to
nearly the opponents entire squad that is very game
changing and is one of the main reasons swarms are
on the downturn.
100: 2.5/5 NOT enough points here if
your try to put in GG, DAC then you ‘ll 3-4 act’s
and while the IG is good if your opponent can get
close enough to hit it. It isn’t going to be pretty
and basically Grevious is 57 points of paper if Bane
gets close to him.
150/200: 5/5 plenty of points here that
you can use GG, DAC, the IG, Sidious and still have
room left for droid filler which I hear is pretty
hard to beat
