Supay, Duskwalker – Yu-Gi-Oh! Review

Supay, Duskwalker is the counterpart to the card we reviewed yesterday: Ascator, Dawnwalker.

A Level 5 but can Special Summon itself in defense with a simple discard, then you get a “Supay” Special Summon, thus setting up your Synchro Summon that you are locked into. Supay Duskwalker can get you to Moon Dragon, but any other Level 6 Synchro is available like Barkion and Goyo. Not much else to say about Duskwalker aside from it being able to also be used for a Tribute Summon alongside the Supay it brings to the field, which has synergy with the Earthbound monsters but also monsters requiring one to two tributes like Monarchs and LaDD.

Advanced-3/5- Less than yesterday because Level 6 Synchro monsters aren’t as good as Level 8 anymore.

Now we’ll look at the card meant to help summon Moon Dragon Quilla with greater ease; Supay, Duskwalker.

Duskwalker is a Level 5 EARTH Spellcaster with 2200 ATK and 1900 DEF. Lower stats from yesterday, but still not terrible, and the EARTH/Spellcaster combo is a fine one. The effect on this card is basically a copy and paste from yesterday, only instead of summoning Fire Ant Ascator you’ll summon Supay with this. Supay is a Level 1 Tuner that summons an Oracle of the Sun from the deck with doubled ATK when Supay leaves the field due to a card effect, but said Oracle returns to the hand at the end of the turn. Just like with Fire Ant Ascator, the effect of Supay doesn’t honestly matter because you’re using it to summon a Level 6 Synchro, with the one they had in mind being Moon Dragon Quilla (the second part of the Sun and Moon Dragon Loop). Once again, just like with Sun Dragon Inti, you got better options for generic Level 6 Synchros like Stardust Charge Warrior, Brionac, Coral Dragon, Naturia Barkion, and it even can help summon Goyo Guardian with the errata since Supay is an EARTH. Another good card for your generic Level 6 Synchro needs, it once again makes the clause of locking you to only Synchro Summons the turn you use the effect necessary. There’s potential here for any deck that wants to make use of Level 6 Synchros just like yesterday’s card in decks with Level 8 Synchros. They’re worth experimenting with.

Look, it’s the same card as yesterday, just Supay themed.  That could be the entire review, but let’s say (for the sake of argument) it’s not.  Slightly different stats (2200/1900) but same Level, Type, and Attribute (and actually LOOKS like a Spellcaster).  The key change here is the card you Special Summon, Supay, is a Level 1 Tuner, which gives you a Set Board for a Level 6 Synchro.

The Extra Deck Lockdown to only Synchros is still in effect here on this card too.  Appropriately (or obviously?) Moon Dragon Quilla is what they’re going for here with Supay, which combos all too well with Inta from yesterday as well.  You can have a fun loop with them (even seen on the 5Ds cartoon).  Not much else to say short of repetition here, but like yesterday, great for Sun/Moon Decks, and easy Level 6 Synchros.
