This is almost the white color pie’s version of that “I heard you like something so I put that thing in itself”. Surgical Suite is a pretty standard spell at this point in Magic’s history, but when it’s on a permanent it opens itself up to reuse, by bouncing the card or otherwise re-locking the door. Hospital Room is a mid- to late-game card that will sometimes be almost a pseudo-Overrun effect, and white decks want that more often than not. When you combine them in one card and can do them in either order, you have something like a one-card comeback – or maybe an engine of some kind, depending on what else you manage to fit in around it. I actually think this is deceptively simple: it has a lot more potential than it might seem.

Surgical Suite and Hospital Room are both very white: reanimate a small creature, and make your attackers bigger and bigger. Neither one is phenomenal on its own, but neither half is completely dead in most cases, and being able to get value from both sides makes this a potent tool in a long game or to immediately get an ally back. It’s nothing profound, but it is efficacious in many cases, and both halves are priced enough to be efficient.
