So…I guess we’re doing this? I mean, we get the first two Standard Trial Decks in 3 weeks, so we’re apparently wasting the first one on Blaster Blade support.

Starting with this. As far as 11k beaters are concerned, There’s enough skills kicking about in the Blaster deck to make this somewhat redundant as far as swing at the vanguard unboosted is concerned, and with Exceed, you don’t need this to search a BB.

What’s up, Rogue Squad?!  Admittedly, the selection of cards that are becoming available to review are getting more and more scarce (though I personally wanted to see about reviewing lower rarity cards, I’m willing to bet that Saikyo would just give them bad reviews as they’re not boss units or a main thesis of the deck, so there went about 90% of the reviewable cards), so I decided to put the spotlight on one of the most revered cards in the game: Blaster Blade, by making this week the history of Blaster Blade.

The history of the game’s most iconic card (yes, I’m saying this over Dragonic Overlord; hate me even more, Saikyo 😜) starts with the fact that Blaster Blade is actually the name of the sword, as the person wielding the sword is actually named Ahmes, hence why we’re looking at Ahmes today.  Ahmes is more for the Alfred build as he is an 11k attacker with an on-hit, and the on-hit is…okay at best.  The fact that it allows you to call Blaster Blade with a free G2 or higher retirement is nice, but I think there are two main problems: 1.) The called Blaster Blade doesn’t get a point bonus from Ahmes and 2.) Pupil Llew (the G2) does Ahmes’s job even better as it isn’t an on-hit and calls Blaster Blade with a 3k boost.  Unfortunately, Ahmes got power creeped really hard and overshadowed by newer cards to lose his relevance.
