Crunch$G The final Egyptian God we will look at is the one that was portrayed as the strongest one in the anime, The Winged Dragon of Ra. Ra is a Level 10 DIVINE Divine-Beast with ? ATK and DEF. This one gains its ATK and DEF upon its Normal Summon by you paying all your LP until you have only 100 left so this gains whatever you paid. I really wish this also gained the ATK and DEF of the monsters you tributed to summon it just like in the show, I don’t get why they didn’t give it that effect cause that would of been pretty nice. Putting yourself at 100 LP is extremely risky, so you should hope Ra is strong enough to where your opponent can never get over it and they can’t either just attack you directly or burn you for the remaining 100 LP. Ra, unlike the other Gods, cannot be Special Summoned, though Sphere Mode does ignore this if you use that and it would give this 4000 ATK. It has the same condition as the other 2 for its Tribute Summon, the summon cannot be negated and effects cannot be activated when this is summoned. No protection like Obelisk, but this could get much stronger than Obelisk much easier, just the cost for that is hefty. You can pay 1000 LP to target a monster on the field and destroy it. It isn’t a once per turn at all, so I could forgive the targeting and destruction, though I feel the removal should be much stronger on a God Card. It also contradicts the effect it has to gain ATK and DEF to begin with upon its Normal Summon, which is another reason I wanted this to gain the stats of what you tributed to summon this card. It’s a card that puts you in a high-risk situation and contradicts itself with its effects. This is probably the worst of the 3 Gods sadly, though if you want you can throw a copy into your Deck if you’re running Sphere Mode just for the surprise factor. I just hoped for better. Advanced Rating: 2/5 Art: 5/5 for the original, 4/5 for Takahashi’s art, and 5/5 for the new OCG art |
Alex Searcy Ra is the worst of the God Cards, and a big part of that has to do with Immortal Phoenix being available now. The Sphere Mode also makes this card much better, but ON ITS OWN, this card isn’t so great. You get what you put into this, which I suppose makes it fun. Paying your Lifepoints down to 100 could make this card insanely strong, which could, theoretically, open up some OTK potential that we might not see from Obelisk or Slifer. But the thing here is that none of this is reliable. This could randomly work out assuming you can survive and counter anything that happens to be thrown your way but you can’t just hope for that. Ra is certainly for casual/constructed use only. Rating: 2.25/5 Art: 5/5 This art shown today is best, but Immortal Phoenix has the best art in the Ra line. |
