Today we look
at the Common Gearsmith Character Topplemajig.
Adding yet another member to the Majig family,
Topplemajig gives Gearsmiths their version of
Entrancing Harlot. For a cost of 5 with a threshold
of only 1, you get a 4/4/1. It's ability, all
Characters in the opposing party lose 1 speed.
While some may quickly point to it's own speed of 1
and peg it as lousy, remember that attacking parties
with varied speed Characters are a GOOD thing. Let
your faster Characters clear out the blockers and
save this 4/4 beat stick to get damage through to
your opponent's Faction.
In comparison to other Characters that are 5 cost
beat sticks with decent abilities, it's low
threshold and solid str/life make it a keeper. In
limited or constructed, Topplemajig will be a solid
Character.

Topplemajig
is awsome. Maybe its just because I got two of these
in my draft on Saturday, and maybe its just because
this and the new Legacy Warmachine have helped put a
whole new face on Gearsmith, but I like this card.
Here's a quick comparison. It does functionally the
same thing (in most cases) as Entrancing Harlot, yet
this one has only one threshold. Splashy!
The effect is useful- Topplemajig itself will be
striking last almost no matter what, but if you have
anything at speed four, I can almost guarentee
you'll get to strike first, and alone if you attack
with a party.
Oh, did I say attack? This ability works blocking
too. And look at the stats on this thing!...?
Alright, they're the same stats that are on 633fy
31f with the exception of speed, and this card costs
more. But for a one threshold five cost card, this
is above par. If you get one of these in draft, it
may not be first pick, but then again, maybe it will
be. And if you get it, I'm giving you very strong
odds on playing Gearsmith as at least a splash.
