Today we look
at another Rogue card that like to see your
opponents discard pile full, Adroit Marauder.
For the third week in a row, our Thursday Rogue
demonstrates the power of your opponent’s discard
pile. A 4 cost 3 threshold 2/2/3 with no significant
usable ability will quickly find itself in the
“lousy common” pile. Adroit Marauder walks a fine
line between said pile and a useful position in a
deck designed to utilize your opponent’s discard
pile. Once your opponent has 10 cards in their
discard pile, you suddenly have a superb 5/5/3
character worth your time of day.
Now when I say a deck designed to utilize your
opponent’s discard pile, you have to look at 2
aspects. Some Rogues and support cards work best (or
work only) when your opponent’s discard pile has “X”
number of cards in it. On the other hand, many
Rogues like to pull those cards out of the discard
pile for your use so you can turn the tides to your
favor. Combine the 2 at the wrong time, and you’ll
find yourself with a less than useful 2/2/3.
Rogues in general are an intriguing Trade and I’m
sure there will be tons of constructed decks
designed to tweak and tech them in a hundred
different ways. Adroit Marauder will find it’s home
there. In Limited, it will likely find it’s niche
filling out the last character slot you feel you
need for your 50 card deck.
