doc Today we overwhelm you with a four for 1. All four of the Horsemajigs of the Apocalypse; Famine, Pestilence, War, Death.

What a way to start a week!

Naturally, these Gearsmith characters are intended to be used together. Alone, the commons Pestilence (2 cost 1 threshold 1/3/3) and War (3 cost 1 threshold, 2/2/3) are “meh” as their cost/threshold would dictate. The common Famine (1 cost 2 threshold 1/2/4) however, will stand on his own. A four speed for 1? Yup, I’d toss him in my limited deck along side a Basic Node for sure (the only other 1 cost 4 speed character in the game). The rare Death (5 cost 3 threshold 2/3/4), based on cost and threshold, would compare to Rudo, Mauler, Alpha Prime H4x0r and Entrancing Harlot (amongst others) all of which I’d take before Death in a draft.

Together on the field, Famine, Pestilence, War and Death would each be 3/4/5. Four characters with total cost of 11 that would indeed be a force to be reckoned with!

Now onto he flavor text.

Each Horsemajig has 4 lines of a puzzle. I wouldn’t dream of spoiling the correct order in which to read them, but I will give you this- Strength, Life and Speed. The rest is up to you!

So how do these menacing end bringers stand up to limited and more importantly constructed decks? Limited of course might net you two if your lucky. If you’re already going Gearsmith, by all means add them. In constructed, they’re probably only going to be seen in a fun and casual game. If they could only search for each other…….

Collectively-

Inoki
Hi folks, Inoki here. Sorry for my lack of reviews. End of my first year at college has been creeping up on me, and I'd rather not fail. I know, I know, personal flaw. I'll get on top of fixing that, but for now, let's meet the "Slivers" of The Spoils, the Horsemajigs. For those unfamiliar with the term, Slivers are a creature type in Magic: The Gathering which give other slivers bonuses in the form of strength, life, or special abilities, not unlike the Horsemajigs.

So what about them? Are they constructed worthy? I don' know. Nothing really stands out about them. They have fairly average stats, but their ability is more relevant in Constructed. Until I see an competitive deck that uses Horsemajigs, I'd rather run nodes. At least because nodes can replace themselves when you play them.

In limited, though, they're creatures, and two of them (Pestilence and War) are easily splashable. Their abilities are much less relevant, since it's unlikely you'll get two Horsemajigs on the field, but regardless, they're cheap creatures with some average stats. Worse comes to worse, I'll use them as a blocker. Not a first pick, but still solid if you're going gearsmith already.

Limited: 4/5 - Not a first pick, but I feel it's solid enough to pick up.

Tournament Constructed: 3/5 - If someone has a good deck, I'd like to see it: jikari (at) gmail (dot) com
