Today we look
at one of the nastier items from Part 2, the common
Rogue item Poisoned Blade.
Do you think she really means apples?
This 3 cost 1 threshold piece of gear has the
potential to decimate your opponent’s ranks. If the
character this item is attached to inflicts even one
point of damage to a character, that character is
destroyed. It’s like a permanent Snake Eyes!
Some of the first questions about this card that
received clarification were:
Hidden Sniper- Does his “Sharpshoot” ability count?
Yes it does. Ping for one and the character dies.
Torrential Bleeder- Does everyone die? Yes they do,
including Torrential Bleeder.
Dethmurderbludgeon, the Craghammer- If the character
it (and Poisoned Blade) is attached to does damage
to a Faction, thus triggering the effect “inflict 2
damage to a character” does that character die from
Poisoned Blade’s effect? No. The character isn’t
inflicting the damage, the Craghammer is.
While Poisoned Blade will unlikely be a staple in
Rogue decks, I’m sure it’s ability will see some
kind of great abuse!
In limited, it could be considered a piece of
removal. In constructed, it probably won’t be second
string.

Poisoned
Blade
This was one of those cards that made me sit up and
take notice. Imagine this thing on a Vander Malagut.
That's just evil! In Limited, on a fast character,
its reusable destruction. Again, and again, and
again. And with new characters like Hasty Sacrophyle,
it will definitely have a chance to do its good
work.
In Constructed, tack it onto a Hidden Sniper, or
just onto a fast character. Basically, this card is
good wherever you put it. If you put it on a fast
character, odds are your opponent won't be blocking
that character much. Or they'll just treat it like
it has Spiky Atlasphere on it. Except there's one
difference- you'll be able to attack as a party.
Make use of that and attack as a party whenever
possible.
But, if you ask me, the truly amazing thing about
the card is the one threshold. I mean, wow.
