Martial
Artist is currently one of my favorite cards in the
game, and this is one of the few times you'll hear
me say that about a non-banker card. The simple fact
that it cannot be picked makes it amazing. It will
never be destroyed by a tactic other than Downsizing
(or dual Shriever Attack) as all other forms of
tactic destruction target. The only other forms of
potential destruction that do not target which come
to mind are Rabid Sarume and Torrential Bleeder. For
the most part, the only way this card will ever be
destroyed is by battle. And as a speed four with
substantial strength and life, your opponent will
need to make significant commitments in order to be
able to do that.

Martial
Artist:
I just can't say anything bad about this card.
Whenever one is played, it will always change the
complexion of the game. He's big and unmovable,
plain and simple, and is IMHO the best character in
the game right now. It's usually worthwhile to spend
your second turn playing an extra resource just so
you can get him out on third turn. The lesson:
unpickable = powerful.
If you can get a Poisoned Blade or Hidden Sandwich
onto him, your opponent will have fits trying to
deal with him. If you can get two of them in play
then you've got a crazy offensive and defensive
line.
