We end the
week with the rare Banker item Short Term
Investment.
For the cost of 2 with a threshold of 2, this item
really does pay off. Since normally it costs 3
(using The Tournament Faction's "Draw" ability) to
draw a card, getting to draw 3 cards for a cost of 2
with the patience of 2 more turns is huge.
Specifically, Short Term Investment comes into play
with 2 tokens on it. At the start of each turn (if
you haven't found a sneaky way to get rid of them
sooner) you remove a token. Once all the tokens are
gone, destroy the item and draw 3 cards.
Bankers are already known for their draw power, and
this one is amongst the top when it comes to
cost/effect ratio. Add in Gold Summit or Beatrix and
you get to continue abusing the system.
In limited, card advantage and getting to the few
good cards you have is key. In constructed, you may
be fighting more for card advantage and this will
certainly give you a leg up.

Short Term
Investment
A very cool card. This turn one Banker item
comes into play with two tokens on it that are
removed one at a time during the start of your turn.
When there are no tokens on it, it can be destroyed
in order to draw three cards.
This can be very powerful when used at the right
time. It truly is an investment however, because in
essence you are spending three resources once for
three cards later. However, by the time that you
will reap the benefits of Short Term Investment, you
would have potentially been able to draw those cards
during your turns or at the end of the opponents
turn with the Tournament Faction's ability.
If cards up front is not what you are looking for,
than this is definitely your card. When combined with
token removers like Voidal Poisoning, this card can
lead to devastating advantage.
In limited, it is a filler. In constructed, I think
it is a hidden gem.
