doc Congratulations! You are one of the first people in the world to see this special sneak preview card from the soon-to-be-released The Spoils First Edition Part 2. Pojo.com gives you the rare Gearsmith tactic 0p3r4710n 1337 H4x0rz.

Once again, The Spoils has reached a new summit by eclipsing the “bomb” tactics (the 10 cost potentially game changing tactics) with the 12 cost 4 threshold “Operation Leet Haxorz”. What do you get for this most lofty cost? How does 4 free cards strike you?

Yes way! As long as you have 4 non-tactic cards in hand and can meet each of their threshold, it’s game on!

Since we are looking at a 4 threshold card here, it most likely will only be used in a mono Elitism or Elitism with light splash type deck. So what sort of goodies could we pull off with this “A” Bomb? Luteoderm Goliath perhaps? A Gigamajig maybe? A series of A Series of Tubes possibly?

Care to get a little techy with it? Scavengemajig followed by the item you just pulled out of your discard pile. (What can I say, I’m pulling for multiple Goliaths!) Or how about the ultimate… 8 cards instead of 4! How you ask? 3p1ph4ny 31f x 4. While big beaters might be the first to jump to mind, any card that costs more than 3 (or an average cost of >3) makes it all worth while.

In limited, its cost and threshold are just too prohibitive. In a wild constructed deck, just imagine how demoralizing it would be to play against it.

Limited: 1/5
Constructed: 3/5

Lastly, take another look at the artwork and flavor text. Just what do you suppose they’re playing to decide who the Ch4mp10n 0f the Un1v3r53 is?
lgmk Operation Leet Haxor reminds me of four cards from 1st Edition Part 1. The bomb tactics. Right up till now, Gearsmith never had one. That just changed. While it doesn't conform to the ten cost of the other four, the four threshold is the same and the ability definitely ranks among them. Let's compare it to Grand Theft All. Both allow you to add four cards to your field. There are, however, a few rather important differences.

With today's new card, the cards you play must come from your hand. This means both that you have more control over what they are and that you're going to need a large hand.

With Grand Theft All you have no guarantee that your opponent's going to have cards you want to take in their deck, let alone in their discard pile. But then again, you're not having to supply the cards from your own hand. You can play it just as long as you've gotten some stuff in their discard pile. You don't need to have your hand set up well right at that moment.

In my mind, the trick with 0p3r4710n 1337 H4X0r5 isn't the cost of twelve, but getting four cards you'd like to be able to play for free in your hand at the same time. If you can do that, it'll be terrific. Otherwise, not so much.

Constructed: 3/5 (I've got a vision here. Arcanist/Gearsmith, but that's all I'm sharing)
Sealed: 2/5
