lgmk Blanching Butcher must be one of my favorite cards in Limited. You pay two and three influence at one threshold in order to get a blocker that won't be touched without destruction or a really big character. Or many small characters. This card can single handedly get you to the mid or late game if your opponent can't deal with it.

It's not nearly as good in Constructed where there are many more accessible ways to deal with it. None the less, it is the biggest blocker at anywhere near the cost. If you can keep it on the field and take the loss of influence like a man you won't have to worry as much about your opponent's attacks.
