Yesterday was a focus on Jack Atlas, and now we look at Kalin’s new card and the unfourtunate name change it had to This Creepy Little Punk.
This Creepy Little Punk is a Normal Spell that’s always treated as an Infernity card, making it searchable, and it lets you Special Summon an Infernity monster that’s banished, in your hand, or in your graveyard. Nice that it doesn’t have the clause where you need no cards in hand to activate, though I can imagine you’ll want to use this with no cards in your hand if you want to summon one of the best targets, Infernity Archfiend. The Infernity archetype has several good monsters worth reviving off this besides the aforementioned Archfiend like Necromancer or any of the Tuners the archetype has. The second effect lets you Set this card directly from your graveyard if a face-up Infernity monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or leaves the field due to an opponent’s card effect, so hopefully you aren’t too clogged in the backrow with Infernity Breaks and Infernity Barriers to be able to set this. Each effect is a hard once per turn, cause Infernity doesn’t need more cards without that clause. It’s a fine revival Spell, mainly helping you search with Infernity Archfiend again, and the recovery of itself is pretty nice. It’d be better in the archetype if we got more copies of Infernity Archfiend and Infernity Launcher back in the TCG similar to the OCG currently, but it’s still a solid card.
Advanced Rating: 3.5/5
Art: 5/5 So the artwork will always be cool, being of a silhouette of Kalin walking through Crash Town while playing his harmonica. The OCG name of this (Return of the Reaper) references Kalin being known as a Death God (hence the reaper part) and references Kalin coming back from the underground for his duel alongside Yusei against Lawton. The TCG name is from Lawton calling Kalin a creepy little punk and Kalin owing the moniker after he summons Infernity Zero to stay in the Duel.
