Hello Pojo Fans,

Time Thief Redoer made its mark outside the archetype up until the lastest ban list.

With the banning of Rank-Up-Magic Launch, Redoer lost its allure for the most part outside the archetype as it was a way to get Azathot turn one and all-but stop your opponent from playing Yu-Gi-Oh. With that card gone now, Redoer may see some play outside the archetype, but its mainstay is with the other Time Thiefs. Generic Rank 4 allows for flexibility within any deck running a few level 4 monsters. Taking a card from the top of your opponents deck does take away something from them, but it also will eventually put that card in the grave (bad if it’s a monster). You can keep attaching materials to Redoer, which works well with its detaching effects. Being able to activate all three effects in one turn is overpowered, but it does still cost you materials that you will have to recoup over three Standby Phases of your opponents. Each effect can be activated during either turn. Getting a draw during either turn as long as you detach a Spell sounds like a no-brainer to me. A Trap gets you a bounce of something important face-up on your opponents field, a great way to deal with boss monsters or spell/traps that are key to their strategy. Also, bounce isn’t destroy, so cards with protection against destruction are free game. The banish effect to save Redoer is good, if you are aiming to keep him on the field as much as possible. With good stats, Redoer can hold his own, but your ultimate goal with him is to claim as much advantage as possible using the materials attached to him. There are ways to attach spell and trap cards (Bezel Ship) that you can run in the deck, but you will likely always have the banish effect online. This card can control the board with the right materials attached to him.

Finally, Friday brings us a boss monster everyone saw coming. Time Thief Redoer is a Rank 4 Dark Psychic-type XYZ Monster with 2400 Atk and 2000 Def. It’s generic only requiring any 2 Level 4 monsters from the field. Fortunately, all the effects can happen whether Redoer is properly summoned or not. Good stats back up those good effects as well. During either player’s Standby Phase, each Redoer you control can attach the top card of your opponent’s deck to himself as material once per turn. Even without the detach effect, removing resources from your opponent can be devastating. Imagine doing this to (regular) Exodia. The detach effect is dependent on what type of card you detach. It’s a quick effect, but it’s a hard once per turn, so no spamming if you control multiple Readers. You can detach up to 3 different materials to do 1 to 3 of the effects based on what you detached. A monster being detached lets you banish Redoer until the End Phase. Moving Redoer out of the way for more summons or dodging effects is one of the reasons PSY-Framelord Omega is cool. A Spell being detached lets you draw 1 card. That’s cool, but it is not reliable. A Trap being detached lets you send any face-up card of your opponent’s to the top of their deck. Non-targeting removal is the best kind of removal. Every effect is worthy and useful and makes Time Thief Redoer worth the Extra Deck space in any deck that can do Rank 4.

We end the week with Time Thief’s Rank 4 that is good in every deck that can summon Rank 4s, Time Thief Redoer.

Redoer is a Rank 4 DARK Psychic Xyz with 2400 ATK and 2000 DEF. Love the stats for a Rank 4, just short of what Utopia has, DARK is a great attribute and again Psychic is better on Level 3 or lower monsters. The summoning requirements are any 2 Level 4 monsters, which is an easy summoning requirement. Once per turn, during the Standby Phase (either one), you can attach the top card from your opponent’s deck to this card as Xyz Material. Stealing your opponent’s resources that they might of wanted to draw or search in order to make Redoer’s effect live is nice, and this isn’t a hard once per turn, meaning multiple Redoers can really thin the opponent’s deck and make them that much closer to decking out while making the effects this card has live. As a Quick Effect and a hard once per turn, you can detach up to 3 different types of cards from this card to apply the following effects based on what was detached.

Monster: Banish this card until the End Phase of the turn.

Spell: Draw 1 card.

Trap: Place 1 face-up card your opponent controls on top of the deck.

The first effect detaching a monster is great for getting Redoer out of harm’s way or just getting him out of the Extra Monster Zone for more Xyzs or a Link. It coming back without materials is fine considering it steals from the opponent’s deck for materials. The effect detaching a Spell might be the worst effect, which says something when Draw 1 Card can be considered the worst effect, but it just achieves what Time Thieves want to do the least, but at least it gives you a plus for a potential Xyz play later on and makes up for that minus you normally take to Xyz Summon. The Trap effect is great considering Redoer’s first effect since you can put a monster or a floodgate on top of the opponent’s deck and attach it to a different Redoer before your opponent can get back to said card. It also not targeting or destroying makes for even better removal. This is perfect to have as a hard once per turn, cause things can get out of control if all your Redoers can do this in the same turn. This card is a good staple for Rank 4 decks now, especially in Time Thieves. He was better when the PK Rank-Up wasn’t banned so you could summon Azathot, but I doubt anybody misses that play.

Advanced Rating: 4.5/5

Art: 4.5/5 He’s like Winder, but cooler.

Time Thief Redoer (how delicious and appropriate a name) is our card to close things out this week (which I’m sure you saw coming days ago).  This is a Dark, Rank 4 XYZ, back to being a Psychic, with 2400 attack and 2000 defense.  Both are rather good for Rank 4, and an XYZ Summon here is conducted with two Level 4 Monsters (you’d think maybe Dark might be required, but apparently not).

So, first, once a turn, you take the top card of your opponent’s Deck and attach it to this card as XYZ Material.  That is surreal.  Stealing cards from the Deck of your opponent could be incredibly disruptive.  And the extra Material only further everything this theme does as a whole, so it’s doubly good.  Then, you can remove up to 3 types of Material, and based on what it is, you get a varying effect (this is a Quick Effect):

Monster:  Remove Time Thief Redoer from play until the End Phase.  This is very reminiscent of Strike Ninja.  Dodging attacks/effects/destruction is always handy.

Magic:  Draw 1 card.  Drawing is equally also an excellent thing, and that’s a fair 1-for-1 Trade.

Trap:  Place one card belonging to your opponent (face-up) on top of their Deck.  This is a great spin ability.  Another good one to set them back.

All these effects live true to the name of Redoer, whether protecting itself, giving you more options via Draw, or bouncing resources of your opponent.  That effect is once per turn, but he’s strong, easy to XYZ Summon, and can be used for a multitude of strategies for you and against your opponent.  You can’t really ask for much more from a card.

Rating:  5/5 in the theme, and honestly, he’s splashable enough, even outside Psychic.

Art:  5/5  Love the detail, love the colors, love the cogs, and I kinda feel this guy reminds me of Dante from the Devil May Cry series…I don’t know
