Time Thief Regulator may be the best card in the archetype outside of the Xyz so far.

A first turn Redoer, those four words are heaven for this archetype. You have no monsters, pop to Special Summon two of them from the deck is a overpowering effect in terms of strategy. Deck thin, +1 off the effect of Regulator alone, then the monsters effects Special Summoned by Regulator can activate their effects and net you even more advantage. You don’t need to go for Redoer, you can go for any Rank 4, which makes this a one-card Utopia the Lightning, Exciton Knight, Castel, Silent Honor ARK, etc. Winder off this will get you another card from your deck while Bezel Ship can sit there and wait for your Time Thief Xyz. This card is great for the archetype even if it had a plethora of monsters. It can be used for a Rank 4 if you have monsters, though you are likely saving this little machine for when you don’t. If any Xyz you have dies in battle this Regulator is coming back to potentially work its magic again. Yes you have to control no other monsters to activate the tribute effect, but it is a great effect and you can work around that restriction. If you don’t have any other targets in the deck then Regulator becomes fodder for Rank 4 summons, which is still good for the archetype.

Time Thief’s midweek card is Regulator. It’s a Level 4 Dark Machine-type monster with 600 Atk and 200 Def. Those are bad stats for a Level 4. However, this monster won’t be on the field for long. If it tributes itself as cost while you control no other monsters, you can Special Summon 2 different Time Thief monsters in Defense position. That’s a beautifully balanced effect since this deck needs to XYZ quickly. It is of course a hard once per turn. The other once per turn effect triggers when Regulator is in the grave. You get to Special Summon it from the grave after one of your XYZ monsters is destroyed by battle. This is also once per turn, and Regulator banishes itself  if it hits the grave from the field. However, you can have a good recovery play if Regulator is in the grave and you want to use the first effect. However, this will be situational since your XYZ monster needs to die by battle. If Time Thief ever takes off, expect Regulator to be limited to 1 since the monsters it Special Summons keep their effects. Run all 3 for now.

The third Time Thief monster for the Main Deck is the last one we look at before the archetype’s Xyz, so here is Time Thief Regulator.

Regulator is a Level 4 DARK Machine with 600 ATK and 200 DEF. Stats are poor on a Level 4, 500 ATK would of at least made this a Machine Dupe target, even though I can get why they might not want that, but I do like DARK Machine still. If you control no other monsters, you can tribute this card to Special Summon 2 Time Thief monsters with different names from your deck in Defense Position that aren’t Regulator. As you saw earlier this week, the cards you’re summoning are Winder and Bezel Ship mostly because they are the only other Time Thieves in the Main Deck. This is basically a Rescue Cat/Rabbit for the archetype and I love it, and I can understand the restriction for not having other monsters because I say summoning from the deck is powerful without the proper restrictions or card balancing. When an Xyz you control is destroyed by battle while this card is in the graveyard, you can Special Summon it, but banish it when it leaves the field. Nice to have a revival option to maybe use that first effect again, though I’d love if the Xyz could be destroyed by an effect as well, but that’s fine considering you can get this back to summon 2 monsters from the deck again. You can get around that banishing if you use this as Xyz Material as well, which is always the best way to get around an effect like that. Regulator’s effects are hard once per turns and here it is likely the most necessary. Regulator in Time Thieves will be the most important card as it gets things started for the archetype, so three of this is warranted as well cause you want to see it ASAP.

Time Thief Regulator is our midweek card, and this is still a Dark, Level 4 (Machine again, not Psychic) with paltry stats of 600 and 200, respectively.  First, we see that if you control no Monsters other than this card, you can Tribute it to Special Summon two Time Thief Monsters.  They have to have different names, they come from your Deck, and you can’t choose another Regulator.

Special Summoning is always good, getting two for one is awesome, and Special Summons from the Deck are damn good.  That’s just crying for an XYZ (or other Extra Deck) play to be made.  Next, we see when an XYZ Monster of yours is destroyed by Battle, and this resides in the Graveyard, you can Special Summon it.  That gives your opponent a little control.  An effect destruction prevents this, but it’s still nice to have.

Like yesterday, if Special Summoned via that effect, Regulator is removed when it leaves the Field, but that’s still no real issue in a Psychic Deck.  As mandated by law, we’re at the part of the review where I say these effects are once per turn, but as fast as these cards can be, it’s necessary, if not annoying to/for the player.  This is the best one so far though.

Art:  4.5/5  Austin says this is a horse, I kind of got a more puppy/dog vibe from it, but the 2-D picture here is kinda throwing me.  Not much detail on the animal, but the background is cool, as is the diversity of colors throughout.
