Hello Pojo Fans,

Tin Goldfish is a great Throwback Thursday choice as it can be used in several decks and the archetype theme of the week.

Rank 4 support that people went nuts for when first released and still holds a place in the meta even now. Instant Rank 4 or Link 2 using just another Level 4 from your hand. Sure, it has to be a Level 4 and nothing lower, but that limit is hardly anything to stop you from playing this. It being a WATER and Machine-Type shouldn’t either. Small ATK is meant to balance out the advantage this gets you. ANY deck playing a bunch of Level 4 monsters can and have run this card at one time or another. Infernity can use it to help get a monster out of their hands, Blackwing can get a Blackwing alongside another monster to start their Special Summoning, and Plunder Patroll can use it to get to Brann or Moerk instantly. Tin Goldfish saw so much play in decks based on getting to Toadally Awesome and Zoodiac used it as another weapon for Drident. HEROS used it to get more field presence and as a material for Absolute Zero, and ABC and Gadget utilized its Machine-Type when no one else would alongside the field presence it gave them.

Tin Goldfish was and can still be such a great card. Simple to use, searchable in some aspects if you’d like, and such a weapon to so many strategies. Even a beginner player could see how good it is and how useful it remains years later.

Advanced-4/5- Can’t be a 5/5 if you don’t run Level 4’s.

Throwback Thursday this week gives us a card that can work well with the Level 4 Plunders, or any Level 4 WATER for Bahamut Shark: Tin Goldfish.

Tin Goldfish is a Level 4 WATER Machine with 800 ATK and 2000 DEF. Nice DEF stat on Level 4, good Attribute and great Typing. Its lone effect is on Normal Summon to Special Summon a Level 4 monster from hand. Easy Xyz plays here, and you can go for Level 8 Synchros as well. In Plunder Patroll, this helps access Brann and Moerk naturally since they are generic monsters. Outside the archetype you can put it in Machine Decks to get yourself to Gear Gigant X for Machine searches. In WATER you summon any Level 4 WATER, HEROs used this with Bubbleman at one point for example, to get into Bahamut Shark to summon a Toadally Awesome. Speaking of HEROs, this did work with Shadow Mist to search Mask Change for Dark Law while getting to Toadally Awesome potentially. You also got generic Rank 4s like Castel, Tornado Dragon, or Abyss Dweller as well. Tin Goldfish is a simple card with qualities to help make use of great Extra Deck cards, I’m sure it can always find a home. Plunder Patroll works well with this somewhat.

Throwback Thursday brings us to a simple yet effective cards for a varied plethora of players in Tin Goldfish.  Level 4, Water/Machine, 800/2000 and essentially a Tour Guide for Level 4s.

With more Extra Deck plays and Links in the scene these days, Tin Goldfish can be just amazing.  A free Level 4 from your Hand when Normal Summoned opens up everything for you.
The only real downside here is you have to run enough Level 4s to warrant this use and to capitalize on it.  Being Water doesn’t hurt the PP or any other Deck who can successfully use it.  Still quite good.
