Hello Pojo Fans,
Tri-Brigade Showdown doesn’t involve Albaz unless through Brigard the Glory Dragon or through Tri-Brigade Mercourier.
Continuous Spell that gets back a banished Tri-Brigade monster if a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast monster is Special Summoned. With all the monsters Tri-Brigade monsters banish to Special Summon a Tri-Brigade Link Monster, Showdown gets you back one of those banished monsters to your hand: Showdown is a Warrior Returning Alive for Beast, Winged Beast, and Beast-Warriors.
The pop-back effect of Showdown is just as good as getting back a resource you banish to summon a Tri-Brigade Link Monster. As long as your Tri-Brigade monster battled an opponent’s monster you get the choice to pop it back to the opponent’s hand. You would only do this for monsters in the Extra Deck because no one is putting a Main Deck monster back into the opponent’s hand to summon again. This can eat up a negation and gets even more valuable if you lost your Tri-Brigade in the battle. Ferrijit and Bearbrumm are your weaker Link Monsters that won’t be winning too many battles, but can get you advantage through Special Summoning effects they have, then link climb into something that isn’t going to lose like either of Shurig’s forms. This effect is most helpful to your Tri-Brigade Main Deck monsters that can smash into bigger monsters and force out the negation of Showdown or be successful in using Showdown to clear the way for big direct attacks.
A banished Tri-Brigade monster back to your hand when you Special Summon a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast and an effect that works both ways within your Tri-Brigade Battle Phase. Showdown helps the weaker Tri-Brigades get more value besides their ability to Special Summon things, while also getting back what you banish to summon Tri-Brigade Link Monsters using those Main Deck monsters. For sure this belongs in Tri-Brigade but not involving Albaz.

It’s been a bit since we’ve seen much from the Tri-Brigades, but we get an update here with Tri-Brigade Showdown.
Tri-Brigade Showdown is a Continuous Spell with two hard once per turn effects. The first triggers if a Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast is summoned to your field (except during the Damage Step), letting you target and add a banished Tri-Brigade to your hand. It’s alright recovery, considering Tri-Brigade will likely banish a lot and the monsters you are summoning are mostly those with the three aforementioned typings. The second effect triggers after damage calculation where your Tri-Brigade monster battled an opponent’s, returning the opponent’s monster to the hand. It’s fine for most of your Tri-Brigade monsters battling, though something like Shuraig probably will be destroying those monsters in battle if not banishing them before he attacks. Ferrijit, Bearbrumm, and even Rugal to a degree might have things bounced after they battle though, and especially when we look at the Main Deck lineup not having the greatest stats, but I will mention Fraktall having better stats than the Link-2s. It’s an okay card for Tri-Brigade, but doesn’t feel like you need it. Considering the new Link-5 the archetype has though and what it requires to summon, if you are using Tri-Brigade Spells and Traps to begin with, this isn’t the worst one.

Art: 5/5 Albaz teaming up with the Tri-Brigade clan looks like a scene from an action movie, the background makes it even better.

Our coverage of the miscellaneous Albaz support in Darkwing Blast continues with Tri-Brigade Showdown, a Continuous Spell for the Tri-Brigade archetype. Like a lot of these lore flavor cards, the effects are usually cute from a lore perspective but are generally too niche for use. Showdown has two hard once per trun effects; if a Beast, Winged Beast, or Beast Warrior is Special Summoned to your field (so this can trigger if your opponent forces one of those to your field, somehow), you can recycle a banished Tri-Brigade monster back to your hand. Additionally, if a Tri-Brigade monster battles, you can return the opponent’s monster to the hand after damage calculation. Both of these effects are actually pretty nifty, since the first lets you recover a Tri-Brigade you may have banished for their many, many effects, and the second can get rid of towers-lite monsters. The main problem with Showdown is the same as almost every other Tri-Brigade Spell and Trap: it competes with Tri-Brigade Revolt for being searched by Tri-Brigade Bearbrumm, the Rampant Rampager. Revolt is a cornerstone of their endboards, and Showdown doesn’t really provide much value combo potential on turn 1 since Tri-Brigade combos are already fairly efficient. It could help recycle a Tri-Brigade you banished for Bearbrumm’s revival effect, but at the same time the deck slot used up by Showdown could’ve been a stronger card. Overall, not a bad card, just hard to compete with Revolt; I’d run one at most if you think it’ll be useful.
