Hello Pojo Fans,

Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier was once alongside Brionac the two most expensive Synchro monsters you could try to get.

Three monsters are needed to Synchro Summon this dragon, including two or more non Tuner monsters. Trishula will break even if you have a target for each removal. Even if you are only removing a card off the field and in the hand, you still are gaining a great advantage against your opponent. There have been loops created where you could remove your opponents whole hand before they even had a turn, but nowadays that isn’t really possible.

The problem now is that with those three monsters you could use them for Link Summoning and possibly develop your field better. Also, to Synchro, you need at least one Tuner monster in your deck. It matters what your situation you are in and what you have access to.

It is still a great card, but with Link Summoning available, and great monsters available, it has lost some play.

Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier is a Level 9 Water Dragon-type Synchro Monster with 2700 Atk and 2000 Def. Trishula is a great Throwback Thursday card and will always see play and will always be at 1. This powerful Dragon requires 3 generic monsters to summon including only 1 Tuner. This means 1 Glow-Up Bulb in any deck that runs multiple Level 4 monsters should be able to Synchro Summon Trishula. When successful, Trishula banishes 1 card from the hand, field, and grave. Provided there are cards to remove this will give you a lot of advantage, which is why it will always be limited. Trishula also has the best name and art for an Ice Barrier Dragon. Own 3 forever even if you can only use 1 because if you can the price will probably always be above $15.

Oh man, one of my favorite Synchros of all time, I still remember opening up Hidden Arsenal 4 just to get this card (which I did eventually). Throwback Thursday brings us to Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier.

Trishula is a Level 9 WATER Dragon Synchro with 2700 ATK and 2000 DEF requiring 1 Tuner and 2+ non-Tuners. Summoning requirements are generic, but you can’t just use two monsters for it, you gotta put some investment into it. Stats are fine for a Level 9 Synchro, though could be a little more. WATER is a good attribute and Dragon is a great type. When Trishula is Synchro Summoned, you can banish 1 card from your opponent’s hand (at random), 1 from their field, and 1 from their GY. Take note you don’t have to banish from all three, but it is most optimal when you can. This card might still be worthy of its Limited Status because spamming out multiples of these can take away so many resources from the opponent. You can still do that if you play De-Synchro, but that is a little more inconsistent than just having the three Trishulas. Maybe with Link Summoning, Trishula can come back to multiples since spamming multiples of these out would be harder, meaning players would only play one no matter what, but might be better safe than sorry. Trishula is a great Extra Deck option if your deck can facilitate the resources to summon her. She’s amazing and nearly immune to power-creep since she doesn’t target.

Throwback Thursday today brings us to Trishula, Dragon of the Ice Barrier.  She spent some time in Ban Land, currently sits at Restricted status.  Let’s get this out of the way first, there are very few downsides to Trishula.  The biggest downfall in my mind is the Level 9 (and that she requires three Monsters for a Synchro Summon) but that works with a Level 9 anyway.

2700 attack is great, and should take out most anything you’re fighting against (although it’s low, yet with a flavor of balance to a very powerful card, for Level 9) and she gets the benefit of being a Dragon, too, only making her that much more powerful of a card.  She needs three resources herself to be brought out (as said) but takes three resources from your opponent…

And, they are from all areas, as they have a card from the Hand, Graveyard, and Field, all removed from play.  That’s a big -3 for them, while you just threw out a Monster with 2700 attack points.  That could, and has, meant game, from this card, on more than one occasion.  The Extra Deck is more crowded than ever, and there ARE more ways to return removed cards than ever as well.  But Trishula can still win you some games, and if you have her and can fit her in the Extra Deck, I say you should.
