Talk about rules text that takes a hard turn. There’s another one in Tarkir that is just as massive, and possibly even more shocking until you realize that they stuck the injury on before the insult. Actually, that’s kind of the same issue with Voice of Victory: you’re often going to be playing it just for shutting off opponents’ spells, whether that’s in an aggressive deck or a combo deck. The mobilize text initially reads like kind of a kludge to shore up the downside that many disruptive creatures are not as efficient as other aggro creatures. But in reality, it’s valuable beyond that since it means the card can also go in general strategies based around either tokens or sacrifice effects – and make those decks much more resilient in the process. Curiously enough, which ability is the insult and which one is the injury depends a lot on perspective.

Voice of Victory is an interesting mix of a defensive effect with offensive pressure. Locking spells out to rudely interrupt your plays is a good way to limit what might stop you from wreaking havoc, and making two warm bodies to attack alongside Voice of Victory makes this a clock that ticks surprisingly fast if unanswered. A flexible color demand also helps, and while this isn’t a perfect stop to opponents doing Rude Things, this is still a solid way to protect your gameplan while still advancing your victory.

Limited: 4.5 (I feel like this is going to do a lot of work, thanks to its efficiency)

Commander [EDH]: 4.25 (there are other cards with this effect, but you can rarely have too many)
