her activated powers this turn.
Cost: 6
Only because of her stats.
ATK/DEF: 13/12
Nice stats.
Range/Flight: Both
Fully versatile.
Effect:
Huh? Ready her to prevent her attacking???
I really don't get this one...
Team Affiliation: Thunderbolts
I know nothing yet about this team, I'll get to
doing the team affiliation lists ASAP.
Overall:
I don't see why she has such a wierd effect, and
as I'm rushing to get this done (sorry for the
lousy review this time), I don't have the chance
to research as to how this effect can possibly
be used well.
Modern Age:
Don't know any tricks to use her, but Flight,
Range and stats make her an ok choice.
3.0/5.0
Golden Age:
Not usable here, but...
3.0/5.0 for effort.
Limited:
Big is big...

"Are you
ready?"
A true beauty of a 6 drop is reviewed today, a
combolicious addition and a definite include in
any Thunderbolts curve deck.

Melissa has the excellent stats of 13/12 for a 6
drop, not to mention flight and range just makes
her even more versatile when it comes to
formations and attacking with her altogether.
Her effect of course doesn't look like much at
first, she can ready herself when she attacks.
She can't attack again when you use her power
and her activated powers (say from Advanced
Hardware for instance) can't be used at all. How
in the world do you make any use out of her
effect then? There are a few very good
interactions Melissa has with certain cards.
First off, Melissa can stun an opposing drop
with her attack and then be used to exhaust to
Finishing Move either on that character she just
stunned or later on in your combat if you, for
instance, team attack into your opponent's 6
drop and then Finishing Move it off. Second,
Melissa can be used to exhaust to the effect of
Win-Lose deal, netting you some extra cards
(extra Beatdowns, Finishing Moves, Justice Like
Lightnings, etc.)
The third, and perhaps most deadly of the combos
Melissa has is with Team Tactics. She attacks,
you re-ready her, exhaust herself to her own
attack with Team Tactics, and she's got 26 atk
for that attack! If you can re-ready her again
in the same attack with Deadly Conspiracy and
pop another Team Tactics on her, she'll have a
gigantic 52 atk coming at your opponent.
Throw in a Blind Sided and that should very well
be the game right there.
While the odds of actually having that combo
work are quite slim, it's certainly an easier
way to perform it than the Fantastic Four team
tactics combo with Cosmic Radiation, due to
Marvel's Most Wanted being able to search for
any of the combo pieces involved. The only thing
you have to watch out for is of course System
Failure. If none of the above combos don't
interest you, you can simply have her be a
reinforcer if your opponent is able to have a
counterattack on turn 6.
Marvel Modern Age: 3.5/5 The only viable combo
she has here is with Win-Lose Deal or in a Faces
of Evil team-up deck with Adhesive X. Otherwise
she's simply a great attacker that can hit
anything from anywhere.
Golden Age: 4.5/5 The above combos are all very
potent if used. You can't appreciate getting to
attack with everyone you have and then STILL
getting to use a Finishing Move on your
opponent's largest character until you've tried
it.
Sealed/Draft: 5/5 A 6 drop with great stats and
with flight and range? Yes please!

Well, the first thing that pops out at me about
this card is the artwork. Alex Horley did a
wonderful job with the art for this piece. After
all, we only play Vs. for the art right!?!
Anyways, songbird is a character with flight,
range, a solid defense for a six drop and an
above average attack. This alone makes her worth
playing if you are running Thunderbolts. The
effect itself eludes me a bit as we are still
waiting for a complete set list from the realm
of the Pojo Masters, but as i read this it looks
like a 'get out of jail free' card. Say she
attacks a 5 drop and they play nasty surprise to
take you down as well or do enough boosting
otherwise to stun you. You can simply ready her
and the attack is over if i am reading this card
correctly. After which she is just a wall
between your opponent and your life points as
she cannot attack again.
If that's the right effect or not she is still
an awesome 6 drop stat-wise. Besides, you can
always play her just for the artwork :)
