Prankster -
Oswald Loomis
Today we are
going to look at Prankster - Oswald Loomis.
Prankster is interesting because he gives
you the opportunity to possibly relieve your
opponent of some potentially useful cards.
However, if you noticed my use of the words
possibly and potentially in the last
sentence, then you know that this card isn't
suitable for tournament play. This card is
a great way to allow your opponent the
ability to rearrange the top cards on their
deck so that they can do more damage to
you. This is because more than likely you
will choose a number that a.) does not come
up or b.) thins some junk out of your
opponent's deck that they didn't need at
that particular moment anyways. Then again
you could always get lucky and choose a
number that works well, only to find out
that your opponent is playing Garth. I
think I will pass on this card....
Ratings:
RS Constructed
deck - 2.0/5.0 ...Unless you have ESP, stay
away from this card....
Limited -
2.5/5.0 ....I am actually going to give this
card a higher rating for this format because
losing potentially useful cards in this
format can be critical

Prankster, Oswald
Loomis – Standard stats for a 1 drop. His
ability is good to use if you go 1st. This is
because most likely the 1 point of damage you
might be inflicting is nowhere near as
devastating as being able to discard some key
plot twists or locations. Don’t get me wrong
this card wont break the game or anything but it
can be quite annoying if it can hit.
Later game he is useful too if you can use some
plot twists or ability that lets you look at the
top card of your opponent’s deck. I will let you
find out what some of those cards are though.
Constructed: 2.5/5 – Like I said not game
breaking and if it doesn’t go off your opponent
gets to put those cards in any order meaning he
will draw whatever he needs the next turn.
However, as a 1 drop for the Revenge Squad, I
would consider using Prankster as none of the
other 1 drop Revenge Squad characters are that
great either.
Limited: 3/5 – Again there is always the chance
that it wont go off. But in a format where
hitting drops is critical there is a good
possibility that if you choose number 4 for
instance that they can discard there 4 drop.
Plus you will probably get to use him twice
before he becomes a liability.

Prankster, Oswald
Loomis
Prankster is another one of those cards that
doesn't really fit into a specific deck
strategy, he exists more to give your opponents
headaches. I call him the anti-Longshot, his job
is to keep your opponent from drawing his better
cards, leaving him (hopefully) ill prepared to
defeat you. One of his inherent flaws is the one
game match format of VS System events. If you
know what your opponent is playing, then you
know what cards you want to keep away from him,
and you have a better idea of what number to
call. However, unless you were able to get a
scouting report on the person you're facing,
it's going to be a lot of educated guesses.
Calling 1 gets rid of Alfred and Boris,
Overload, The New Brotherhood, and most Army
characters. Call 4, and Savage Beatdown,
Sentinel Mark V, Reign of Terror, Sabertooth,
Feral Rage, and The Source. A good player has
weapons at every drop though, and usually more
than one copy, so you may only be delaying the
inevitable. Still, if this is your Turn 1 play,
you'll probably get at least 2 uses out of him,
and you have the added advantage of knowing what
you opponent is going to draw. If nothing else,
you can use his power at the end of the turn and
call out the number of the next turn, to try and
decrease his chances of hitting his next drop.
Like Longshot, his usefulness is a little too
dependent on luck to make him a definite play,
but if you need some low drops to fill iut your
curve, you can do worse than Prankster.
In Limited, he can really shine. He can be
splashed into pretty much any deck, and even if
all he does is cause your opponent to miss one
of their drops, he'll have earned his spot. He's
about a middle of the pack pick in a draft, and
if you don't grab him, someone else will.

Prankster
Before I start the review I would like to thank
the pojo staff for letting me on the CotD team.
I'm LeftWithHonor, from the message boards. Now
onto the review.
We have here a very interesting card, with the
affiliation of revenge squad. Without question,
the revenge squad low drops are somewhat lacking
in strength, and this guy could be their saving
grace. Use his effect, and call the next
possible drop.(Call 2 on turn 1, etc...)
Hopefully, if the opponent does not already have
the drop in their hand, this card may make them
miss it.
Furthermore, if you see a nasty card that you
called the wrong number for, and don't want your
opponent obtaining, you may chain this cards
activation to their draw, eliminating any
potential threat. He is a solid 1 drop in a
constructed RS deck that can disable your
opponent early on.
In limited, this card may help even more. With a
normal deck size of 30, it is even easier to
force an opponent's drops, and the small cards
he needs, into the KO'd pile. Despite the lack
of drafting ongoing plot twists in MoS, you may
still pull one out of the bag with him.
