Bloke-Mickey
Tork
Continuing on with last weeks X-Statix theme
today we have an interesting character choice
for X-Statix early game. I think Bloke is cool.
Whenever he attack or is attacked you can
exhaust any number of X characters you control
to give this big ol' pink guy +2/+2. I like to
play Bloke on turn 2 and then try to recruit
another level 2 character along with a 1 on turn
3. There's not to many characters this early on
that can deal with a 6/6 attacker. :)
In the late game extra copies that are no longer
relevant are great for discarding to activate
your Star of the Show or boosting your Phat.
In a sealed or draft event I'd use him as a late
pick only if I had a bunch of low drop X-Statix
characters already in my pile. Don't disregard
him if you do have the support, he can be
potentially huge real early.
Constructed 3.5/5
Limited 2/5

Bloke –
Mickey Tork
Lets take
a look at one of the X-Statix underlings, Bloke
- Mickey Torke. This is one X-Statix character
that likes teamwork. On 2rd turn, Bloke can be a
4/4 if you exhaust your X-Statix 1 drop. As a
matter of fact Bloke can get bigger and bigger
each turn with the drawback of exhausting your
other X-Statix characters. Since his text says
this attack, Bloke can be pumped while attacking
or even while defending.
Constructed: 3.5/5 – Although his printed stats
are on par with other 2 drops, the ability to
Boost his stats a +2/+2 for each character
exhaust other than Bloke, makes Bloke a
desirable 2 drop for your X-Statix build.
Limited: 4/5 – Anytime you can get a +2/+2 while
attacking and especially while defending take
it. Although it might be more difficult to get a
4/4 Bloke on Turn 2 with the availability of
only 2 - 1 drop X-Statix characters both being
an uncommon and a rare.

Bloke, Mickey
Tork
Bloke is going to fit in more of a swarm X-Statix
build, as you'll need other characters around to
exhaust for his ability. It's a nice turn 2 play
if you put Coach in the concealed area on turn
1, otherwise he's a small 2 drop that will get
abused.
If you really wanted to go to the trouble, you
could run him in a mono-X build by exhausting
the teammates, then feeding them to X-Statix HQ
for the endurance boost and to turn on solo
bonuses like X-Statix Cafe.
Still, he's not very useful past a turn or two,
when better options start popping up. Even as 2
drops go, Vivisector and Gin Genie have slightly
better effects, so Bloke might not even make the
cut in your build.
In Limited, he's a small body, and his power is
useless without other X-Statix characters to
exhaust.
He's an end of the pack pick, if he even makes
it in.
Ratings:
Constructed (Modern) - 2/5
Constructed (Golden) - 1/5
Limited - 1/5

Ah, it
appears we're entering another week of X-statix,
with todays card, Bloke, Mickey Tork. There's
not much to say about this card.
Exhaust another X-statix character you control,
he gets +2/+2 this attack.
Even if by chance, you had another character on
the field with this one(which you SHOULDN'T,
playing X-statix) this card will only give you a
temporary, turn 2 4/4. X-statix has better cards
to use. MUCH better cards. Even playing the
rare(but seen) X-statix swarm, I still don't
think tork would be a good card to run.
In limited, he's slightly better, where he can
stand up to a missed drop on turn 3. Even so,
he's not that worth it unless you REALLY need a
2 drop filler.
Bottom line, save it for the crap pile.
Constructed: 1.5/5
Limited: 2/5
