Mr. Mxyzptlk
Looks like this week we are going to indulge in
some older cards that have been around a while.
To start let?s look at Mr. Mxyzptlk?
Since this character has been around a while I
am not going to bother with the usual talk about
stats and abilities. If you have played this
game for a while then you probably know what
this guy does?and if not you should probably go
look it up (shame on you).
So why play this card? Well, it isn?t because he
has a cool virtually un-pronounceable name.
Basically if you are playing Revenge Squad then
you know that this guy is basically a free
character on the field. This combos well with
PT?s such as Toy Soldiers. He is also
unstunnable which makes him great for cards like
Flame Thrower. Of course his presence on the
field may not last long and it allows your
opponent?s attacking character to ready, but
when you have the initiative this character can
be really nice to have?.
Ratings:
DCMA ? 2.5/5.0 ?Unfortunately RS gets the short
end of the stick in general in this format.
GA ? 2.5/5.0 ?.This character combos quite well
with some GA cards.
Limited ? 2.5/5.0 ?If you can get enough RS
characters then this guy is worth having?after
all there is something to be said for board
presence in this format.

Mr. Mxyzptlk
Okay, you all saw what the card was, I refuse to
type his name out over and over in this review.
Mr. "M", suffers from being part of a team that
is too marginal to see Tier 1 status, even in
the rarified atmosphere of DC Modern. All you
need are a couple of Revenge Squad guys on the
field, and Mr. M is a free recruit.
>From there, you can use him for payment powers,
or if you can boost his attack, you can use him
to take out an opponent's character without
taking damage back, and if they attack him, he
bounces back to your hand.
Somewhere, somehow, there's a strategy there,
but so far not many people have bothered to find
it. Maybe Revenge Squad will get some support in
the upcoming JLA set, mainly because a Revenge
Squad/Legion of Doom (or Injustice Gang) teamup
deck would be pretty sweet, thematically
speaking. In Sealed, don't bother.
Seriously.

"Greetings,
Mr. Muxzle-... Mr. Mixl-... FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!
HAVEN'T YOU EVER HEARD OF VOWELS?!?"
Mr. Mxyzptlk, Fifth Dimension Imp
Number: DSM-080
Rarity: Uncommon
Card Type: Character
Cost: 2
Team: Revenge Squad
Attack: 1
Defense: 1
Range: Yes
Flight: Yes
Mr. Mxyzptlk costs you 1 less to recruit for
each Revenge Squad character you control.
Mr. Mxyzptlk cannot be stunned.
Whenever Mr. Mxyzptlk is attacked, return him to
owner’s hand.
Cost: 2
Weak stats, but interesting effects to
compensate.
ATK/DEF: 1/1
His effects somewhat make up for his weak stats.
Range/Flight: Both
Well, at least he has this going for him.
Effect:
If you already have 2 other Revenge Squad
characters out, he's free to recruit. also, he
can't be stunned, and he returns to your hand
when attacked.
Team Affiliation: Revenge Squad
I don't know that much about this team, but from
what I do know, there isn't alot that makes this
deck highly desirable to play. It does have it's
tricks, such as deck cycling effects, some KO
effects, and effects related to stunning. It's
an ok team, but I haven't heard of the RS team
being used very much. Mr. M doesn't add anything
useful to the team, either.
Overall:
Well, he can be a free character to recruit, but
he's rather useless in the long run. If he had
higher stats, he might have been useful, but as
he is, he's rather useless, except in a few
obscure combos.
Constructed:
There's better cards to use, even for an RS
deck. Mercy and Encantadora are much better
choices.
1.5/5.0
Limited:
His effects are even less useful in this format.
Look elsewhere.
