Ancient Throne
Card #DLS-115
Whenever an
opponent flips a location or plays a plot twist from
his resource row, if you control a character named
Darkseid, you may discard a card. If you do, turn a
face-up resource face down. This power triggers only
once per turn.
Activate >>> Cards named Darkseid you own are not
unique this turn.

Ancient
Throne
This location from Legions of Superheroes is
part of the new trend off new cards that has a
triggered effect that only happens once per
turn. This card has 2 main effects and both is
centered around having a character with the name
of Darkseid.
The triggered effect is when your opponent flips
a location or plot twist from his resource row
and you control Darkseid you can discard a card
and flip down any card in any resource row and
this can only trigger once per turn. This effect
is great in 2 ways. First you can use it with
the Darkseid Elite strategy of keeping face down
cards in your opponents resource row and second
you can reuse a plot twist or location in your
own resource row.
The 2nd effect on this card is an activate
ability, and this one makes cards you control
with the name of Darkseid not unique this turn.
Anybody familiar with Superman and Spider-man
will know that there are many versions of those
characters and have effects to allow you to play
multiple characters with the same name like
Cadmus Labs, Look Alike Squad, and the 6 drop
Scarlet Spider.
There are several new Darkseids and cards that
requires Darkseid and this effect will allow you
to utilize them to greater effects.
Golden Age rating: 2/5 I don't think Darkseid
based decks can use or counter the 2 main
strategies in Golden, rush or stall.
Silver Age rating: 3/5 Darkseid has potential to
do well in this format but only time will tell.
Modern Age rating: 3/5 Really depends on can a
strategy involving many Darkseids can really
work
Limited rating: 3.5 3 non rare Darkseids with
good effects on a very solid team makes this
card useful to have several good characters out
at once, and with the resource recursion means
more options for you.
