Power Siphon
This card is ridiculous! Imagine gaining a +15
defense or more in a single card. Trust me, it
happens more that you think.
Power Siphon is the name of the game today. This
1 cost plot twist gives a target IG defender - X
attack/+X defense where X is the number of cards
in your opponent's hands. (All you have to do is
exhaust your defender.) You thought acrobatic
dodge was good? Well you haven't seen anything
yet. This card can single-handedly ruin your opponent?s attack strategies (especially if they
can only play one plot twist per turn).
Ratings:
DCMA constructed - 3.5/5.0 ...This card can do
amazing things in an IG deck.
GA constructed - 4.0/5.0 ...This card is a must
in any IG variation deck.
Limited - 2.5/5.0 ...With the card being teamed
stamped, it is a little harder to get this card
to be really effective.

Power Siphon
This review is going to look a lot like Friday's
review, because this is the mirror image of
Friday's card (All Too Easy, for those who want
to set a reminder). Oddly enough, this one is a
rare, and All Too Easy is a common. Anyway this
is another one of the support cards for the
standard IG build: Fill opponent's hand with
cards, then punish them for having those cards
in hand. In this case, Power Siphon acts like a
Shape Change on crack. If you've got Criminal
Mastermind and Lex Luthor online, then Power
Siphon should stop any attack that your opponent
can mount against you. The downside? A) The
defending character is exhausted, so you won't
be able to swing back with it. B) The defending
character isn't going to come close to stunning
back the attacker. Still, this is for keeping
Lex around, or possibly 4 drop Doom is you play
DIG. Why is it a rare? No idea, seriously.
In Limited, it's a good play if you're forcing
IG.
It'd be a great generic defensive pump in
Limited, since your opponent usually has 4 or 5
cards in hand at any given time, but being team
stamped hurts it a little in a drafting
situation. You don't want to take it too early,
as it forces you into IG without being Lex
Luthor. If you pass it, you won't see it again,
as the IG player or the rare drafter will snatch
it up. It's offensive counterpart is much more
desireable.

Power siphon
Plot Twist 1
Exhaust target IG character you control. If you
do, it gets -X ATK /+X DEF where X is the number
of cards in target opponent's hand.
This card is pretty straight forward. As was
discussed on monday, IG is all about loading up
your opponent's hand with cards and either
letting them not play them or turning it against
them. This card has the ponential to do upwards
of a + 15 DEF! They try to smash a 1 drop for
big damage - BOOM - attack bounces off! This
makes one heck of a defensive shield and gets
them to waste an attack, but this card may not
be for every IG build as many times there are
just so many cards that NEED to be in the deck
that there just is not room.
A very good card, but may not make it into every
deck. |
