Feral - Maria
Callasantos
What is better than having a Sabertooth on the
field? Well when that Sabertooth doesn't have a
discard effect to get it on the field. Today's
card is the new Feral Rage, aptly named Feral of
all things.
Feral is a beast at 11/4. She doesn't have
flight and range but with that kind of attack
power, I can cetainly overlook that. Feral fits
in well with the non-reinforcement aspect of
morlocks. This deck is all about big creatures
and lots of damage with the drawback of a lack
in your reinforcement department. Normally I
would put 4 of this card in my "NR" deck, but in
this case I think Hump is acutally better.
Having 4 defense is a huge drawback for this
card. While you may lose 1 attack with Hump, you
certainly gain in the defense area (and he can
be reinforced by your other NR guys). Sure you
may have to discard with Hump, but since all of
the characters in a NR deck are physical
characters, it isn't a big deal. Still, while
Hump may get presenence at the 4-drop spot, I
would still put 2 of these cards in my deck.
Ratings:
MMA constructed - 3.0/5.0 ...This card isn't as
good as its counter, but that doesn't mean it
should earn a spot or two.
GA constructed - 3.0/5.0 ...This deck is
absolutely killer against a AGL deck.
Limited - 4.0/5.0 ...Forget the defense on this
card...this format is all about smashing your
opponent before they can smash you.

Morlock
4 drop
Trait: Physical
11/4
No F/R
Feral cannot have reinforcement.
Pay one resource point-->Move feral to your
hidden area. Feral cannot be stunned while
attacking this turn.
Today we look at the newest twist to the game
courtesy of the Morlocks. A good number of the
Morlocks have super high attacks (from the next
drop up the curve), really horrid defenses(one
drop lower), and cannot be reinforced. The idea
to this deck is to smash your opponent as hard
as you can, as quick as you can. Most of the
characters have the ability to move themselves
to the hidden area for protection so even if
your opponent swings away on your open endurance
you will still get to swing back and big! A
really golden age card for this team is going to
be fast getaway as it stops breakthrough instead
of granting reinforcement.
It remains to be seen exactly how good this team
will be as even when you attack, you will most
likely go down as well. Teamed-up with X-men for
the recovery ability and this might be really
good, but I am guessing that Morlocks, when
drawn right can hit hard enough on their own.
This card should only be used if you are going
to do the smash mouth Morlock deck.
