Stargate
Basics: Stargate is the search-all for any Kree
deck. By activating and discarding a card you
can return a character with a cost of 2 or
greater to your hand to search your deck for a
Kree character.
Constructed play: Stargate was basically made
for the Kree press theme. Outside of this, I
wouldn't consider using this card. After all
reducing your board presence is only good if you
can somehow make up for it during the following
turn. Limiting a search card down to only one
theme for a particular affiliation really takes
a lot out of a card, imo, but since press is the
main theme for Kree anyway I guess in this
instance it isn't so bad.
Limited play: In this format, this card becomes
sub-par. While a search is still a search and is
certainly better than nothing, its team-stamped
restrictions and cost prohibit it from being
truly worth its rarity. I say only include this
card in your deck if you get good Kree
characters and not the other way around.
Ratings:
MMA constructed - 4.0/5.0 ...This card was
really only made for Kree press decks.
GA constructed - 4.0/5.0 ...ditto
Limited - 2.5/5.0 ...It is still a search card.

"To infinity
and beyond!"
Today is Stargate, a versatile tutor for Kree
decks.
Stargate
Location
2 threshold
Rarity: Rare
Activate, discard a card >>> Return a character
you control with cost 2 or greater to its
owner's hand. If you do, search your deck for a
Kree character card, reveal it, put it into your
hand, and shuffle your deck. Use this power only
during your recruit step.
Stargate's glaring restriction of using it only
during your recruit step may sound like a
detriment, but it's actually quite the opposite.
Say on turn 2 you recruit your Dr. Minerva but
miss hitting any characters with her effect. You
go to turn 3 and still come up empty. Well, you
can use Stargate to bounce Minerva back, search
for another 2 drop like Kona Lor and play both
Dr. Minerva and Kona Lor out. It's not a bad
turn 3 play, especially if both Dr. Minerva and
Kona Lor's effects both go off. Even as the game
goes on, you need some way to return characters
back to your hand to use again and again. On
turn 5 or 6, bouncing a low character back to
press out again while searching for another
character to help your board presence is really
versatile. Play at least 3.
All formats: A character tutor plus allows you
to keep your press going. It'd be unfair if it
didn't have the discard cost. 4.5/5
Sealed/Draft: If you went heavy with Kree,
Stargate could prove useful. 3/5
