Mobius,
Shadow of the vampire
Teams Underworld and Spider Friends
5 cost rare
10/10 Flight
Dual Loyalty Concealed optional
I’ve ran into this guy and ran this guy playing
sealed he a great drop if you can get teamed up.
10/10 is pretty big but there seem to be a lot
of 10/9 5 drops in this set. But gaining
endurance with every stun now that’s real nice.
I’ve won or lost more games by 5 or less
endurance to know every few points helps.
Morbius won’t make or break the games by him
self but should be the preferred drop if you’re
playing his two teams.
Sealed 3/5 teaming up in sealed can be
problematic so I don’t feel you can rely on him.
But if he hits the board you have a good chance
that your opponent won’t get the stun back with
out a pump.
Constructed 3.5/5 Morbius is more playable in
constructed but I don’t see this as being a good
team up. Sinister Syndicate and Marvel Defenders
would be better for a team up in my opinion. |

Level 2 Judge |
Hey kids,
City Championship testing (and Warcraft
judging) has been eating up all of my time
lately, but I'm back for this week's card
reviews. What a coincidence; I'm working on a
Concealed-heavy deck for this weekend's CC in
Waco, and today's card is a Concealed bomb.
Morbius is the total hotness for MTU. First off,
just look at his stats. 5 drop, 10/10 with
Flight and Range. How great is that? If his text
box was blank, he'd still be a playable card.
You can stick him out front as a meatshield, or
you can hide him and make sure you get to smash
face with him every turn. His ability is what
makes him so great though (and so hard to
recruit). When Morbius stuns a character, you
gain endurance equal to the cost of that
character. Trade stuns with a 5-drop? Then you
won't lose any endurance. Trade up with a 6?
Gain 1 endurance (and smash with your 6). Attack
down into a 4? Do a bunch of breakthrough and
gain 4 endurance to add insult to injury.
His hotness is tempered by his Dual Loyalty.
Underworld and Spider-Friends can play together
if necessary though, and with all the Concealed
Underworld denizens available to deckbuilders,
it shouldn't be too difficult to keep one out
long enough to team up with Spider Friends, then
be able to drop Big Daddy Morbius on turn 5. I
think this is Dual Loyalty 5-Drop Week, so I'll
hold off on comparing him to the other Dual
Loyalty 5-drops until later.
In Sealed, he's a hot potato. You can do some
serious damage with him, but he forces you into
an archetype.
That's not an automatic bad thing, but if
someone next to you is cutting off one of your
teams, then you could be settling for a crap
deck just for one bomb rare. Be forewarned.
