The “B” Team
3 cost plot twist
Curve fixer for Marvel Defenders. Since backup
cards are easy to come by for the Defenders the
draw back will only be hard in sealed or draft.
It’s a rare so it won’t see much play in sealed
or draft so the cars good. Turn 3 is normal for
search of this sort so the cost is normal. What
most people forget is that now you can splash
any affiliated characters into a Defenders deck.
This card is good it’ll see plenty of play. I’ll
rate it a 5/5. Once again search is the most
powerful mechanic of the VS system and being
able to hit a drop or tool box card is very
important! |

The b Team
Mobilize was the search card that got all of the
attention when it came out in Legion, but Marvel
Team-Up has a searcher that has quietly come up
and possibly surpassed Mobilize as the must have
search card for Modern Age.
To use The B Team, discard a Marvel Defenders
card with backup, then you can search your deck
for any affilated character card. It's a narrow
teamstamp on the cost, but just about the widest
possible area of effect. Using Marvel Defenders,
which are already a great team, as the anchor of
a toolbox strategy could be a great play for the
next PC. Much like FTN's Mexican Hardware Store
used Wild Ride and Marvel Knights as a core, and
then used Enemy of my Enemy to fetch toolbox
characters as every drop. Enemy of my Enemy
isn't legal in the next Modern Age, but B Team
is still a strong strategy, even being able to
combo with Mobilize if you play an early
Defender curve with their utility backup guys,
then slide in some techy characters at higher
drops as one-ofs.

The "B" team
3 cost Plot Twist
In short, you Discard a Backup Marvel Defenders
to search for an Affiliated character, and put
it in hand.
OK... as I stated last week with the "Indebted"
card, card advantage of any sort can be a good
thing. Even if it is only Virtual card
advantage. While you may be discarding a card,
you are getting one that could potentially be
better in the situation that you are in. The
only thing I'm not sure about is the "Marvel
Defenders" team. There are plenty of 'Backup'
characters in it (3 words: Howard the Duck, O,
Joy!!!). So, I like The "B" Team. If you play a
Marvel Defenders deck, or a deck with at least a
few Marvel Defenders with Backup, you'll
probably want to run a few of these.
Overall: 3/5 (only cuz I don't know much about
the Marvel Defenders yet) |
